Target has started taking retail reductions on products, in the industry, this is known as Perm Markdowns or C-Markdowns (competitive).
Meaning, they’re reducing retail prices for consumers, permanently. This is not a discount. It’s a permanent change to the price consumers pay at the register.

The idea is to remain competitive. So they’re forecasting, or they have data indicating that competitors (Walmart, Amazing, etc.) are testing lower prices also.

This is happening right now across the country, via. direction from Target leadership. PRESUMABLY, because they know the economy is improving under Trump. Think about Harry Sisson screaming about the price of eggs not coming down under Trump. They actually ARE coming down. And not as a discount (i.e. 2 week long 20% off). These are Reg. (Regular) price changes.

The point is that an insider is talking about the need to bring down pricing in order to compete with OTHER stores, and then he showed proof. They are being forced to lower costs in the wake of a Trump administration. I hope this helps.
