It appears that T3 Chat has been blocked by two lovely corporate threat detection tools - @CheckPointSW and @PaloAltoNtwks
I've tried going through their flows for reporting false positives, and neither seem interested in fixing their erroneous blocks.
@CheckPointSW @PaloAltoNtwks Crazy how having 300,000 users isn't enough "proof" that you're not some shitty spyware.
I sympathize with the need to block new domains. I have ZERO sympathy for companies that make billions of dollars and spend $0 of them on BASIC FLOWS TO HANDLE FALSE POSITIVES
@CheckPointSW @PaloAltoNtwks fwiw - Palo Alto is so pathetic that Stripe GAVE UP. They blocked Stripe's main CDN (a.stripe.something) and moved it to b.stripe.something, where it STILL RESIDES TODAY.
As much as I'd love for every single business to move off these terrible providers, they won't.
I want to emphasize an important point: it sucks that you have to be famous to get these things fixed.
I know they'll fix things for us. Probably. But if I didn't have 200,000 followers? I'd be 100% screwed.
My competitors shouldn't need to be famous to compete.
@CheckPointSW @PaloAltoNtwks So once again, I beg these companies to wake up and realize what they're doing.
Preventing malware is not an excuse. Fix your reporting flows. Make it easier for users to report when a domain is incorrectly flagged. Make it POSSIBLE for hosts like me to get this addressed.
@CheckPointSW @PaloAltoNtwks Until then, you're on notice. I will continue to inform my audience of the atrocious, pathetic nature of your businesses, and go out of my way to prevent the next generation of startups from EVER dealing with your shit.
Fix it, apologize, and prevent it going forward.
@CheckPointSW @PaloAltoNtwks Unironically might make my own "threat detection network" that just blocks every one of these services.
@CheckPointSW @PaloAltoNtwks I'm going to bed. To @CheckPointSW and @PaloAltoNtwks, I leave you with two options:
1. Unblock T3 Chat before I wake up
Or...
2. I start my day by filming a video, rallying my 1m+ strong YouTube audience against you
🫡
@CheckPointSW @PaloAltoNtwks (ngl I might film it anyways, this needs to stop. It's unfair that I get out of it for being famous and people without massive audiences just get screwed)

From chargers to backpacks to underwear to screwdrivers, I got you covered. I'm a nerd about deals and sharing them is how I justify staying up late. Enjoy 🫡

These things are so convenient you have no idea

$32: Calvin Klein 5-pack Boxers
These were the best seller in my Prime Day thread lol. I love them and bought like 3 sets. 55% off is a steal (I paid full price without hesitation)
Hey @AmanVirk1, you have me blocked but I’m sure you’ll see this anyways.
You are posting a link to an unlisted stream. It’s not a public video for a reason. I kept it unlisted so I could share my frustrations with the laravel team to improve the onboarding experience for the next generation of laravel devs.
If you want your ecosystem to rot, if you want your framework to lose its “kind” stereotype, if you want to keep new people away, you’re doing a great job.
I’ve spent the last 48 hours digging way deeper into Laravel than any “influencer” would ever waste their time on. This brings me no financial benefit whatsoever.
I’m trying to improve the ecosystem for ALL devs. You’re trying to drive hate. Jokes on you though, I’ll contribute more to Laravel in the next week than you will your whole career :)
It’s also of note that the part he’s talking about is approximately 2 minutes of a 2+ hour deep dive, a dive that hit LOTS of rough edges that I’ve been obsessively documenting for the team.
But being shitty towards JS devs gets you attention in the PHP world I guess. 🤷
I know Android is "not as polished" but man, I hit like 6 separate errors while setting it up. The Pixel Camera app update just failed for no reason?
Hoping this is because the firmware is old, updating now
I shit you not, the "updates available" button in settings did not respond for approximately 30 seconds. I had enough time to pull out my iPhone to film it and it STILL was happening
1. “React Compiler is written in Rust!”
There’s a WIP branch that Joe made to experiment with a Rust implementation. It’s VERY early and AFAIK can’t even be used right now, just meant to show it’s possible
2. “React Compiler is built on Babel”
React Compiler is not built on top of anything. They chose to ship a Babel plugin day 1 as it is still the most popular way to parse/transform JS. Bindings to other parsers will happen soon
I contributed to this FUD accidentally 😅
3. “I don’t want to add ‘use memo’ to all my components”
The “use memo” directive is meant as a stop-gap for MASSIVE codebases trying to adopt early. The recommended path is opt-OUT, not opt in.
“use no memo” is much more interesting (and is not in the docs yet)
Apple just added Stolen Device Protection to the iPhone and EVERYONE should enable it. Let me explain why
Thieves have gotten smarter. They learned that stealing iPhones wasn’t worth it because they don’t have the passcode. Now they’ll threaten to kill you unless you give them your passcode
They’ll immediately disable all security settings, go to your bank app and transfer everything they can
With this feature, your iPhone will require Face ID to change security settings when you are not home. This is HUGE.
The main goal is to give you more time to mark device as stolen through iCloud. The secondary one is to yet again disincentivize the theft of iPhones
