🇨🇦’s a special place. Regardless of race, creed, or nationality—the country will accept you with open arms… to wash your money.

🇨🇦 doesn’t just have a money laundering problem. It’s THE global money laundering hub, leveraging its innocent reputation.

<thread> 🧵👇
2/ a lot of people heard about TD’s epic money laundering problem, and the resulting US$3b fine for washing cartel cash.

Few people in 🇨🇦 realize TD & RBC had freakishly similar allegations here, but the case was botched and fell apart.

3/ In 🇨🇦, folks complain 🇺🇸 appointing @TulsiGabbard to direct national intelligence is reckless.

Few in 🇨🇦 know its own intel equivalent was arrested for leaking Five Eyes intel to launderers.

His case referenced a lot of terror cash at 🇨🇦’s banks.

thebureau.news/p/toronto-curr…Image
4/ police recommended 7 charges in BC’s largest money laundering case ever. Prosecution decided no charges.

B.C. premier Eby unsuccessfully requested charges again, before asking the Fed for new laws. They ignored him. Image

5/ the alleged launderer in BC’s case is really lucky. After becoming the poster boy at laundering inquiry, he was shot in a failed assassination attempt while having dinner w/a friend.

His friend, previous champ of largest laundering investigation which fell apart, died. Image

6/ Asia’s El Chapo was a resident of the Toronto suburb of Markham. One 🇺🇸 official who contributed to his arrest is @dasher8090, who previously led an anti-fentanyl task force.

Asher says that’s not a coincidence. Toronto is the command & control center.

7/ the Black Axe CULT runs the global stolen car trade, but transports anything.

Intel told 🇨🇦 they’re in TO, exploiting immigration & laundering w/houses & casinos. 🇨🇦 sprung into action!

jk. immigration minister accidentally makes an announcement at their club house.
8/ Most people have never seen this photo of 🇨🇦’s PM making dumplings at a cash for access fundraiser.

I can’t remember why New Zealand froze millions of his assets 4 months later. Image
9/ 🇺🇸 asked 🇨🇦 to investigate money laundering allegations of a firm in Montréal.

You’ll never know what happened because 🇨🇦 doesn’t want you to know—it’s a secret what’s happening in the country. Just shut up and lay your taxes.

globalnews.ca/news/7345866/r…Image
10/ 🇺🇸 also asked 🇨🇦 to check out a guy in Mississauga.

Whoops! He was laundering cash f km North Korean cyber heists. Whoops! Our bad.

ctvnews.ca/toronto/articl…Image
11/ A family moved to 🇨🇦, moved $167m through banks, and bought $32 million in property.

A subsidiary of a Swiss bank asked the government to what the f*ck is happening here?

Eby asked 🇨🇦 about it. 🇨🇦 seals the deportation file showing they were wanted by Interpol. 🤪
12/ bet you didn’t hear about 🇨🇦’s banks opening bank accounts to hide the sender of money?

It came to light in court when one bank fired an employee, who fired back that the bank “encouraged the practice.”

So awkward.

betterdwelling.com/are-smurfs-and…
11/ 🇺🇸 alleges a group washes Iran’s cash. 🇨🇦 disputing extradition.

A former RCMP super’s take:

“It appears they’re operating with virtual impunity right now…There doesn’t seem to be a concentrated enforcement action of any kind in this country.”

cbc.ca/newsinteractiv…Image
12/ with all of these money laundering problems, one would think 🇨🇦 would take it seriously & appoint a top expert to its AML force!

Nope. In 2020 🇨🇦 appointed the person who led the redesign of its web services in charge. FINTRACs filing system has since had terrible uptime. 🤷‍♂️
13/ anyway, just a quick thread to highlight that 🇨🇦 has been openly using its clean reputation and easy immigration to act as a front for launderers.

It’s happy to have the money & refused to crack down on it. It’s hard to not conclude policymakers are facilitating it now.

“🇨🇦 doesn’t have fentanyl problem. 🇺🇸 only seized 19 kgs at the border.”

lol. Yeah, no. Firefighters accidentally found multiples of that in some dude’s apartment.

The brother of Toronto’s Danforth Mass Shooter lived there…

<thread> 🧵👇
2/ long story short, firefighters are called to check out a carbon monoxide detector. They see an unreasonable amount of drugs.

They call the police, who find 33 firearms, and 42 kg (92.6 lbs) of carfentanil, a powerful derivative of fentanyl.

globalnews.ca/news/3806457/m…Image
3/ Carfentanil is a derivative 100x more powerful than fentanyl, and 10,000x more powerful than morphine.

Sounds like a comically absurd strength of opioid? It is. A grain of sand sized dose is enough to OD.

This guy had 42kg of this stuff? 🤔

Neither 🇨🇦 & 🇺🇸 are saying what the drug-border conflict is about out loud, so I guess I’ll do it.

This is about 🇨🇦’s trucking industry & Ontario’s truck driving schools that popped up overnight.

<thread> 🧵👇
2/ first off, you’ve probably seen this chart makings the rounds “proving” 🇨🇦 isn’t a big source of drugs in 🇺🇸.

When I talk stats, I always tell people to take careful note of what it’s showing.

In this case, it’s drug seizures on the 🇨🇦& 🇲🇽 border. Straightforward. Image
3/ Now, if you’re in 🇺🇸 you’ve probably been reading stories like this.

Take note of where these truckers are being arrested. Spoiler: not the border.

Just one of these busts was 6% of the volume of drugs seized at the border, but obviously wouldn’t be in the border data. Image

🇨🇦’s public safety minister just said less than 1% of 🇺🇸’s fentanyl is from 🇨🇦, and ditto for illegal immigrants.

Here's why that's a whopper of a lie. Warning: Your opinion of 🇨🇦 will irreversibly change.

<thread> 🧵👇
2/ Last year 🇺🇸’s border seized ~19.6k lbs of fentanyl.

🇨🇦 busts in Q4:
- a lab in BC was producing ~4% that volume per year
- a lab in AB produced ~1% of that volume

In 🇨🇦, just these 4 busts in Q4 represented over $1 billion of drug profits. Image

3/ I doubt that was hand-crafted, artisanal fentanyl destined for sale at local farmers markets. 🇨🇦 has been well aware of this for decades.

The DEA alleged that El Chapo stated 🇨🇦 was more lucrative than the 🇺🇸 & sent a lieutenant as a student.

Fun fact: 🇨🇦’s last finance minister executed a wild accounting scheme that no one is discussing.

This reckless moved padded the pockets of corporate interests, artificially inflates gov revenue, & is partially responsible for the loonie’s plunge.

<thread> 🧵👇
2/ One of her favorite moves was borrowing on behalf of corporate interests. 🇨🇦 wasn’t “giving” money, it borrowed for them.

It later forgave billions turning it into strategic corporate welfare & they refused to disclose for whom. But that’s another issue.
3/ the real issue was the real estate loans. The gov had this genius idea where it would buy its own mortgage bonds & execute a QE-style program to stimulate cheap debt.

CMHC warned this “blurs the lines between normal & crisis.” They did it anyway.

🇨🇦 is falsely framing a prominent journalist as an asset of Russia.

It's a malicious lie to discredit @davidpugliese, who has a 42-year track record of exposing embarrassing gov lies.

A short list of the work 🇨🇦 is trying to hide.

<thread> 🧵👇
2/ 🇨🇦's military used the pandemic to test its propaganda techniques.

In 2021, David exposed the military conducted an "info" sharing exercise against the public without any official authorization or request from the Fed gov.

ottawacitizen.com/news/national/…Image
3/ The military refused orders to release details on the propaganda tests.

It turns out the "info" was actual disinformation, such as notifying the public of wolves to create panic.

They also illegally monitored & tested social manipulation techniques.

🇨🇦’s tax authority (CRA) was forced to acknowledge it’s hiding a significant breach of its internal system by hackers.

Also, an unrelated SMS exchange between me & a prominent FINTEC expert that started 6-months ago on the topic of Don’t Worry About It.🙃 Image
2/ also for anyone else that wants a little peak into our Don’t Worry About It file.

🇨🇦 anti-gang Intel agency estimates 1 in 2,600 adults in 🇨🇦 are organized crime affiliated & 1 in 10 work for government.
ps if you’re about to give me the “Gov knows more than you” lecture, you’re new here. Welcome!

First, ponder why a former RCMP director was perplexed how we figured out the money laundering players before intel, why it wasn’t isolated, & who regulators ask to find stolen shit.
