I've talked quite a bit about "magic" on #Tiriande. It's neat and orderly and not everyone can do it.

But magic on #Nhimidar? Any dumbass who gets his hands on a grimoire can achieve some kind of effect. /1
Hell, on Nhimidar regular people simply don't even speak certain old names of power for fear of attracting unwanted attention.

On Tiriande, "magic" is governed by deities called the Serach. They like to keep things nice and tidy. /2
But "magic" on Nhimidar? The Serach have no sway there. Another pantheon called the Lords of Risk won Nhimidar aeons ago. They like magic to be sloppy, haphazard, and scattershot. /3
The Lords of Risk are like malicious children setting the couch on fire just to see what will happen. They love drama and shenanigans.

And the relations between the two godly groups are very simple: They hate each other.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. /4

I’ve talked about the immortal Uslarif quite a bit. I should probably talk about the Dunsairks, as well. After all, Umaryn is from this folk race and she’s the main character of Saga of the Misbegotten. /1 Image
Dunsairks are a river valley folk who rely mainly on agriculture, herding, fishing, and other forms of food production. /2
Physically, Dunsairks are smaller and more gracile than most folk races such as Uslarif, Vykhirgs, and the now extinct Humans. Umaryn herself stands at a mere 5 feet tall and this is typical for her kind. Dunsairks have long tapered ears that can move and pivot. /3

Here is some crude digital art of Ennesionore. This will be useful to show an artist as a reference if I self-publish and need a cover done. Ennie here would be off to the side wearing a blue dress with a matching blue hat while carrying a redwood staff. /1 Image
Anyway, Ennesinore is an example of the immortal Uslarif folk race. Yes, her skin is grey. Uslarif skin is either grey, blue, red, yellow, or orange. Eyes are usually amber but are sometimes of a cobalt color.

And those facial marking are *not* tattoos. /2
Every Uslarif has a unique pattern of raised facial markings in either black or white. For example, Ennie's younger kinsman Valadric has white markings resembling insect wings.

Uslarif have the ability to perform invocations, what humans erroneously referred to as "magic." /3
