America will NO LONGER tolerate unfair trade practices. We are one of the most open economies in the world, yet our trading partners keep their markets closed to our exports.

The examples are endless.

🧵 THREAD:
The U.S. tariff on ethanol is a mere 2.5%, but Brazil charges the U.S. ethanol exports a tariff of 18%.

As a result, in 2024, the U.S. imported over $200 million in ethanol from Brazil — while the U.S. exported only $52 million in ethanol to Brazil.
The U.S. average applied Most Favored Nation (MFN) tariff on agricultural goods is 5%, but India’s average applied MFN tariff is 39%.

India also charges a 100% tariff on U.S. motorcycles, while we only charge a 2.4% tariff on Indian motorcycles.

That isn't fair.
The European Union can export all the shellfish it wants to America — yet the EU *bans* shellfish exports from 48 of our states.

As a result, in 2023, the U.S. imported $274 million in shellfish from the EU — but the U.S. exported only $38 million.
The EU also imposes a 10% tariff on imported cars, yet the U.S. only imposes a 2.5% tariff.

That isn't fair, either.
A 2019 report found that across 132 countries and more than 600,000 product lines, U.S. exporters face higher tariffs *more than two-thirds* of the time.

President Trump's plan seeks to fix these imbalances and ensure FAIRNESS across the board.

Studies have repeatedly shown that contrary to public rhetoric, tariffs can be an effective tool for achieving economic and strategic objectives.

🧵 THREAD:
A study on the effects of President Trump’s tariffs from his first term found they strengthened the U.S. economy and led to significant reshoring in industries like manufacturing and steel production. Image
A 2023 report by the U.S. International Trade Commission, which analyzed the effects of Section 232 and 301 tariffs on $300+ billion of U.S. imports, found the tariffs reduced imports from China and effectively stimulated more U.S. production with very minor effects on prices. Image

The “Consumer Financial Protection Bureau” (the brainchild of Elizabeth Warren) has long functioned as another woke, weaponized arm of the bureaucracy that leverages its power against certain industries and individuals disfavored by so-called “elites.”

🧵 FOR EXAMPLE:
CFPB used its slush fund (collected from targeting financial institutions) to support radical advocacy groups.

One such group is the Soros-backed Mississippi Center for Justice, which targets religious liberty and assists illegals seeking to skirt our laws. Image

Another is The Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia, whose board features senior left-wing officials and has lobbied hundreds of times for more welfare spending. Image

THE WINS KEEP COMING: President Trump promised to usher in a new Golden Age of America — and he continues to deliver win after win at historic speed.

🧵 Here are just a few from the past week:
The Trump administration is securing America — transferring “the worst of the worst” criminal illegal aliens to Guantanamo Bay ahead of their repatriation back to their own countries.
Following President Trump’s imposition of tariffs, Mexico announced a deployment of 10,000 troops to the border to combat illegal immigration and fentanyl trafficking and Canada announced a flurry of measures to combat fentanyl manufacturing and trafficking. Image

USAID has been unaccountable to taxpayers for decades — funneling money to ridiculous (and in many cases, malicious) pet projects of entrenched bureaucrats with zero oversight.

🧵 Here are only a few examples of the WASTE and ABUSE:
— $1.5 million to “advance diversity equity and inclusion in Serbia's workplaces and business communities”

— $70,000 for production of a "DEI musical" in Ireland

— $2.5 million for electric vehicles for Vietnam

— $47,000 for a “transgender opera” in Colombia

— $32,000 for a “transgender comic book” in Peru

Last week, President Trump took executive action to protect kids from irreversible chemical and surgical mutilation.

It’s already working — preventing kids from being maimed and sterilized by adults perpetuating a false claim they can somehow change their sex.

🧵
NEW YORK: NYU Langone Health has started canceling appointments for so-called “gender-affirming care” involving minors.

They canceled appointments for “two 12-year-olds who had been scheduled to receive implants that dispense puberty-blocking medication.” Image
COLORADO: Denver Health announced it would stop performing sex change surgeries on minor children, while UCHealth said it is ending so-called “gender-affirming care” for all minors. Image

The WSJ’s tirade against President Trump’s decisive action to stop fentanyl from killing innocent Americans is a reminder the WSJ is always wrong when it comes to tariffs and trade. For years, the WSJ has supported America Last policies such as open borders and outsourcing. 1/6
In a 1991 commentary article, the WSJ attacked opponents of NAFTA as "protectionists" and "anti-growth zealots."

Between NAFTA’s implementation in 1994 and 2014, the U.S. auto sector lost 348,000 jobs. 2/6 Image
In a 2000 column, WSJ editorial board editor Robert Bartley wrote that NAFTA was one of Bill Clinton's "true accomplishments."

One study found that just through 2002, the NAFTA deal "caused the displacement of production that supported 879,280 U.S. jobs." 3/6 Image
