SitRep - 16/02/25 - Bilateral talks and Russian failure in Kursk.

An overview of the daily events in Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Lots of statements regarding peace talks and Russia did a failed attempt to attack Ukrainians in the Kursk region.

As usual we start with Russian losses over the past 24 hours.
A Russian MT-LB stuffed with infantry was hit and destroyed while it tried to reach the Antonivskyi Bridge in occupied Kherson region.
At night, lots of Russian shahed drones were once again shot down.
A Russian scout group was taken out in the Lyman direction.
A TOS-2, Russia's new MLRS system, was destroyed near Pokrovsk.
An observation point was struck with a Copperhead 155mm shell.
A BM-21 Grad MLRS destroyed by the 12th Azov.
Large mechanized attacks in the Kurakhove direction. It led to lots of destroyed Russian equipment and personnel.
The same goes for the Velyka Novosilka axis. Despite all cost, Russia wants to advance. No matter what and how much it takes.
Lets continue with the general events. Apparently, the US only gave Zelensky 4 hours to review their rare metal proposal after which Zelensky declined to sign.
The US and Russia will hold preliminary talks to see if Russia is really willing to negotiate peace.
German FM Baerbock urges partners to deliver more long-range weapons to Ukraine.
A Ukrainian delegation arrived in Ryadh, but it turns out not for the upcoming talks between Russia and the US. This is for a possible future conversation with Zelensky/Ukraine.
Norway joined the Drone Coalition.
Zelensky made it clear: only Ukraine will decide Ukraine's future.
Meanwhile, the US is 'dissapointed' that Zelensky didn't sign a deal he was not able to review properly, and would hand over 50% of Ukraine's earth minerals to the US. How weird.
Former Ukrainian President Poroshenko claims new elections are already planned. But MP Honcharenko refuted this info quickly.
Zelensky gave out a number of killed and wounded Ukrainian soldiers.
The Czech initiative is continuing, and has already delivered 1.6 million shells.
Zelensky arrived in the UAE.
The EU is working on a new big military aid package for Ukraine. Finally woken up?
Newsweek reports that officials are preparing a meeting between Putin and Trump in Saudi Arabia by the end of february.

An update on the Pokrovsk direction. It looks like Russian advances south/southwest of Pokrovsk have definitely stalled for now after Ukrainian forces took momentum back.
In the Kursk region, Russian channels are furious about a very recent attack near Nikolskoye which ended in total failure and annihilation.
Footage of that particular attack appeared quite quickly.
