My friend’s 10 year old daughter killed herself after being relentlessly bullied.
She was a classmate of my niece in Roanoke.
It is heartbreaking and unbelievable. 10 years old.
The Bushman family wants to get this message out to help others.
Cyber bullying is now 24/7.
I was talking to another friend from high school yesterday who was also friends with the Bushman’s, and he said his ten year old daughter was similarly targeted.
Some girls made a “fuck [daughters name]” text group, added her to it, and showered her with abuse.
Her mom approached the ringleader’s mother, and she shrugged it off and said the kids need to work it out amongst themselves.
I think most of us are probably not aware to watch for this at such a young age. But as parents we must.
If you give them a screen, lock it down, monitor the hell out of it, and be direct and demanding with other parents and the school.
I was a member of different entrepreneurial groups like EO for years.
Now I am a member of a few groups and friend circles of folks that have built companies and had successful exits. Many are Ultra high net worth people.
I would like to share a few observations. 🧵
All anyone ever talks about is health, marriage, family.
Because thats all that fucking matters.
Yeah we talk some business. But not much.
These groups are mainly support groups. Because founding and running businesses is scary and lonely.
Every one of us wishes that we had treated ourselves better during the crazy times of growing a startup.
We wish we had slept more. Ate better. Worked out more. Worked less.
A lot of us are in bad shape now. Some of my friends are already dead from stress related health stuff
We own 550 acres along the Shenandoah River. The property is zoned timber (i.e. “in land use”) and has very low property taxes.
This property is also one of the larger parcels with no conservation easements - we can do what we like.
If you can find a similar property with low carrying costs and flexible zoning, it gives you tons of optionality. You can enjoy it in its natural state as we do, you can develop it, you can hold onto for generations without spending a ton of cash to keep it.
My kids always ask “will we own this one day?” And I say yes.
People are vibeing on this post so I will take you on a little tour.
We have built a number of things on this property over the years.
First was an orchard with apples, pears, cherries, mulberry, plums, hops, grapes, and a bunch of other stuff.
8ft deer fence.

We added a geothermal greenhouse and grow citrus, avocado, bananas, cucumber, tomato, etc. 3/n
We call the farm “Kingdom Come” due to this inscription on a ruin.
A short thread on the odd link to my property and the first book to sell 1 million copies in the US (other than the Bible) 1/n
This ruin (since restored by me) sits on a beautiful limestone cliff high overlooking a bend on the Shenandoah River. The inscription on the chimney reads “Kingdom Come - 1924 - WCM - EFM”
There is a deck (also rebuilt), and stone steps going down to a cave, with cold spring water filling a stone pool that then flows into the river.
I think I only have one mental gift that gives me an edge, and that is reading comprehension. I can read a lot of material, quickly, and retain a good amount of info.
And it was 100% taught to me as a child by a “reading remediation therapist” named Betty Price. 1/n
When I entered elementary school I had a number of behavior issues. The public school actually had my mom get my IQ tested to see if I was mentally challenged.
I was rebellious and bored. And I didn’t care to learn how to read.
My mother found a specialist in Roanoke that had developed an entire reading system. She authored books and sold this system internationally. I was lucky enough to take lessons from her in-person.
