🚨🧵BREAKING: New report today by @PHRisrael reveals testimonies of israel’s arbitrary detention of 250+ Gaza healthcare workers since Oct 2023—raped, starved, tortured, used as human shields, violating International Humanitarian Law.
180+ still detained, 70+ killed in custody.
2/ Sexual Violence
Dr. A.M.:
The soldiers kept taunting him, saying, ‘You’re the one who was raped.’ He was deeply depressed. One day, they entered with dogs, assaulted him, and struck him on the head—he died immediately.
Dr. N.T., surgeon at Nasser:
At every stage, we endured beatings and severe violence—batons, dog attacks, and boiling water poured on us, causing severe burns. I know that some prisoners had batons inserted into their buttocks.
3/ Human Shields
Dr. K.S., surgeon:
They ordered me to go to a school and bring the people out, using my status as a physician. I refused. Then, they asked me to go to a specific area wearing their military uniform…I refused again.'
Dr. K.J., dentist:
The captain…beat me, punched me, and kicked me in the testicles…They threatened to cut off my fingers because I am a dentist.
4/ Physical Torture
KN, coordinator:
I was interrogated in the "Disco Room" for a week, where the volume was always deafening. They beat me so badly..my tooth filling fell out...poured cold water on me, struck me on the head with a cell phone, and beat me half to death.
A MQ, nurse:
In Petah Tikva…I was suspended by my wrists from the ceiling, my legs forced backward, and left in that position for hours…they extinguished cigarettes on my head and poured coffee over me.
*Disco Room is an interrogation room in Ofer prison with extremely bright lights and deafeningly loud music playing at all times to mentally strain detainees in preparation for and during interrogation.
5/ Humiliation
Dr. Khaled Alser:
There was a battalion outside, and they forced us to strip in front of everyone and walk naked for about thirty meters. We were detained while still naked for about two hours.
Dr. MT:
For three days, Force 100 soldiers raided the enclosures with dogs, beat prisoners, and allowed the dogs to urinate and defecate on us…We were always handcuffed and blindfolded.
Dr. KS:
They beat us with batons one after another and especially the doctors. They asked each detainee whether they were a doctor.
6/ Medical Neglect, Starvation
Dr. NT:
Sometimes I conduct surgeries on other prisoners; I clean the abscess and open it with a piece of plastic, then disinfect it with bleach.
Unnamed physician:
We are given three slices of bread with jam or chocolate barely enough for one slice. Most of the food consists of sugar. I started fasting to save food—I have been fasting for 22 days now.
Dr. H SB:
I told the doctor: ‘We are professional colleagues - you are meant to treat me humanely’. After hearing this, he slapped me while I was still blindfolded and told me: ‘You are a terrorist’.
Dr. MH:
Nearly all the prisoners currently have or have previously had scabies. Many suffer from diabetes and high blood pressure, and some suffer from severe bacterial infections.

⚡BREAKING: A new @haaretzcom report details the IDF’s connection to 'gangs' in Gaza, and how they've allowed these groups to loot aid & collect fees ($4k) from drivers in areas under FULL operational control of the IDF, impeding entry of the majority of food and equipment.
🧵
These armed attacks occur under IDF watch, typically only hundreds of meters away.
Militants then stop trucks by shooting at tires or using barriers, demanding a "passage fee" of 15k NIS (~$4k) per truck, and threaten drivers with violence or kidnapping if they resist.
Local police forces have attempted to intervene but were met with attacks by the IDF, which views them as part of Hamas and continuously targets them with artillery.
Aid organizations have suggested a Palestinian or international police force, which israel has rejected.
BREAKING: New @hrw report details israel’s cruel detention & abuse of Palestinian healthcare workers
A paramedic says he was brought to a large building “like a warehouse” where detainees in diapers were suspended from the ceiling by chains attached to their metal handcuffs.
🧵
After he was brought to the Sde Teiman facility, personnel at the facility then
"suspended him from a chain, so his feet were not touching the ground, dressed him in a garment and a headband that were attached to wires, and shocked him with electricity"

Khader Abu Nada, 30, a nurse at Beit Hanoun hospital, said that he was asked “where his mother was and they threatened to bring her from the checkpoint where he was arrested and strip her in front of everyone“
“When I heard this, I was psychologically broken. I felt humiliated.”
