Just logged a few hours on the demo for @moi_rai_'s Aethermancer demo and I'm totally hooked! A roguelike monster collector is a brilliant idea and the team has executed on it brilliantly! 1/x
First and foremost, the art. The pixel art and atmospheric lighting provide such an alien feel to the world that makes every new room and every new monster feel unique, impressive and eye-popping! 2/x
The attack animations double down on this feeling really making the monsters ooze personality and flair! Gameplay wise, it admittedly took me a minute to really understand everything that was going on and how the progression actually worked...3/x
But once I did everything felt way more natural and the game instantly became super engaging and gripping! I didn't know for how long I was playing (I forgot to pick up my laundry lol) and I didn't really care tbh it was great. My only "complaint" is that...4/x
I am not very good at the game which is obviously fine but I wanna see all the cool monsters the team put together and all the moves they can do and interactions they have! All in all, really really fun monster collector that puts a great spin on the genre...5/x
Strongly differentiates itself from The Big PK in major and exciting ways, and provides a super enticing gameplay loop that just locks you in! Thank you @moi_rai_ for dropping a demo and I can't wait to see more of yoru awesome game!

Just got finished with the demo! Really didn't expect it to be so long!

The first thing that has to be discussed with Twilight Monk is the combat. Having a pillar on a chain that is used as both a platform and a weapon is one of the most creative ideas I've seen in while! 1/7
The progression system of how your attacks get stronger is fun and easy to understand, the secondary weapons and talismans pair nicely with the phantom pillar itself, and hits feel weighty and impactful! The overworld/dungeon dynamic feels like a departure 2/7
from other MVs I've played but I welcome it! It pairs well with the focus of condensed areas to explore and knock out baddies through, if it makes it kind of annoying and difficult to backtrack through if you haven't found the portal for the area yet. 3/7
