Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD) 🧵I’m not an immigration lawyer, so I won’t comment on the Mahmoud Khalil case. But I’ve been following CUAD—for which he was a spokesperson—for a long time and it has explicitly and repeatedly supported violence and terrorism. 1/
The images in this thread are all from CUAD’s official social media channels (as indicated), CUAD’s official Substack (see the watermarks), or indicate co-sponsorship by CUAD. 2/
The images and text explicitly encourage or support violence or terrorism—including use of the inverted red triangle, which indicates a Hamas target—or praise designated terrorist organizations and leaders. 3/
Statements include “ALL ZIONISTS, POLICE & SURVEILLANCE ARE LEGITIMATE TARGETS (paired with red triangles), “liberation by any means necessary, including armed resistance,” “violence is the only path forward,” and “bring the war home.” 4/
In the Substack posts—still publicly available as of this posting—CUAD published “a tribute to yahya sinwar” (who it calls a “hero”) and calls October 7 “Sinwar’s crowning achievement” and one of the “greatest moments of Palestinian resistance in the past decade.” 5/
The Substack posts also praise al-Qassam Brigade (Hamas’s military wing), as well as the designated terrorist organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. 6/
And they approvingly “commemorate the anniversary of the historic Al-Aqsa Flood” (i.e., October 7), quoting a speaker who calls the October 7 attack “heroic” and “monumental.” 7/
These are CUAD’s values. 8/8
