There is something bizarre going on that I can't quite put my finger on, but it can be seen in the replies to this guys post. This guy has been poking around in DMs and replies of lots of RW twitter constantly asking for followbacks.
As I alluded to in another thread, there is something strange going on. Weird influencer accounts in "MAGAville" that have followings relative to exposure that make very little sense.
Couple that with what I saw earlier, why are large "normie" themed MAGA accounts creating "twin brothers" that they are boosting? These accounts are obviously not being accused of impersonation, they are sanctioned, because the "brothers" are mutuals.
Are they using their platforms to boost and create high follower alts to sell? What I have heard goes on is that people will create accounts and use this followback strategy until they reach a certain size, unfollow everyone they follow, change to a blank slate name and PFP, and then sell off the account. People buy these blank slate, high follower count accounts in order to immediately jump into things like monetization and begin to engagement bait.

But there is a certain and very similar "vibe" to all the accounts here. They are all congratulating Dustin here, but despite their followings only getting double digit views and 1 or no likes for the most part. Though there are a few accounts in the replies I know are organic.
Additionally, this huge "knot" of accounts retweet each other constantly, but there is very little actual engagement in their posts compared to a typical 50k+ follower account.
This one, I know is actually ran by a real person. I know this because I met her at a grassroots function here in Houston where she was trying to make the case that she should be the one to try and primary Dan Crenshaw. (no, she does not look remotely like that pfp LOL)
But even this lady has a strange background. @KennethRWebster has dug into her history, and aside from getting some twitter followers after complaining about the vax ad nauseum, all she's done is some non-verifiable shady NGO work?

Am I in an echo chamber and have been blissfully unaware of what mainstream MAGA discourse online looks like? Donno, but I have been on this platform for years and you usually get a sense for who all the big accounts are in political spaces.

Either these accounts are being suppressed for spam or the only "real" engagement is actually this network of related accounts. Even on a driveby reply, it's not common that 100-300k accounts only get double digit views of *anything* they post as a reply.
So, what do you guys think?
If I had to trust my intuition, I would say there is some PR firm on the docket which took a few known influencers like Eagleman, combined with the "followback" tactic, to try and astroturf a ton of high follower accounts into being.
They can then justify to clients what kind of "reach" or "market share" they have of the MAGAverse.
Or they are doing a side hustle, boosting and building their own alts so they can blank slate them later and sell them to Khajeets who will turn them into manosphere/alt trad west slop engagement accounts

Would also remind everyone of the recent "sodagate" where a lot of conservative influencers were getting paid by a media corp that was being paid by Big Soda to get all outraged about the idea of taking soda off of food stamp eligibility.

My last note.. I don't have proof, but there is something really fucking shady about this organization, and they hand out badges constantly to literally who types.
