Trump’s first 100 days have been nothing but chaos for Maryland.
If you’ve had trouble keeping up, let me break it down for you. ⤵️
Just weeks after inauguration, Trump fired tens of thousands of our public servants and cut more than $1.6B from critical programs Marylanders rely on.
That includes:
😷 Health and human services grants
✂️ Support for our farmers
📉 Over $480M in public school funding.
These cuts aren’t just numbers. They’re attacks on anyone and everyone who relies on basic public services in our state.
You’ll probably recall Trump’s lawless executive orders, from trying to dismantle the Department of Education to end birthright citizenship. But did you know that Trump and his Republican allies in Congress are proposing cuts to Medicaid and the ACA that could jeopardize health coverage for nearly 600K Maryland residents?
And thanks to Trump’s reckless on-again, off-again tariffs that push costs onto the people, the average Maryland household could pay $4,900 more per year just to get by.
This administration is threatening our rights, freedoms, and futures – and we can’t let them just skirt by with it.

On the eve of inauguration, I just want to say thank you to all Marylanders.
Those that supported us in this election, and those who did not. To those that voted for @arunamiller and me, thank you for your belief. For those who did not, thank you for the space to earn your support in the future.
I am humbled and honored by the opportunity to be the governor that all Marylanders deserve, and to work with each and every one of you to build a state where all Marylanders are seen and supported.
I'm honored to be here at @MorganStateU to deliver the Fall Commencement address!
Good morning, Morgan State! Good morning, graduates!
I am so glad to be back on the campus of the National Treasure.
Morgan State represents the very best of our state and, indeed, our country.
Founded during Reconstruction… committed to social justice and academic excellence… You have been strengthened by strivers who came here with dreams and left with a plan.
I have to respond here. Baltimore, the place @realDonaldTrump says “no human being would want to live” is my home. It is the place that helped raise me, the place I still very proudly call home, the place where I’m raising my children. (Thread.)
It is also important to know the Baltimore is the birthplace and settling ground of some of the most discriminatory and separationist policies that our nation has ever deployed against its black citizens.
Redlining, discriminatory real estate covenants, racist lending policies, uneven policing practices. The chronic underinvestment in our city is immeasurable.
