I think that people blaming CPC, or Pollievre, for losing fundamentally misunderstand Canadians.
1/
As it stands, 41-42% is the most a conservative party can ever hope to achieve in a country where roughly 60% of the people simply are NOT inclined to vote conservative. It takes something massive to break off a portion of that 60%
2/
That's because the 60% are made up of:
1) actual progressive true believers 2) people who work for the government 3) people who get their money indirectly from government spending
3/
The people in these groups overlook everything that's gone wrong in 🇨🇦 over the past 10 years - always - because
1) they don't believe things have gone wrong. 2) they believe things have gone wrong, but they are more concerned with their own individual economics
4/
In many ways, they vote for preservation - either of their worldview - or of their money - and often - both.
And they will not be swayed. Ever.
The only way to beat them is to divide them. Which, traditionally happened through NDP LIB Green etc.
5/
The CPC can never "progressive" itself enough - and it shouldn't even try. We saw this in 2021. They will always be the perceived enemy of the 60%. The 'enemy' of public health. Now, the enemy of 'elbows up' - both equal in their retardation.
6/
Yet, both powerful in their meaning to the 60%. And useful for the media (which, coincidentally, is almost 90% comprised of BOTH true believers and government dependants). The media is the vehicle through which the 60% assures itself of its righteousness.
7/
The only way to defeat the 60% is to have it fight amongst itself over the idiocy and foolishness in which it believes.
Which climate 'initiative' is best to save the Earth
Which lunatic deserves the right to have another 'Day'
Which 'oppressed group' deserves more money.
Etc
8/
So don't blame Pollievre. He did the best he could in a situation where the 60% largely came together to oppose him.
And if you want to help him win next time, donate money to the NDP.

Having a sense of national pride is natural and (usually) healthy. However, when your pride is rooted more in what you are NOT - as opposed to what you actually ARE - it may be taken as a sign that something is a bit off.
2/
Such is the case in Canada. When asked what it means to be Canadian, the default answer people usually give relates (in some way) to the idea of simply not being American. We absolutely thrive on it. We define ourselves almost entirely in juxtaposition to the United States.
3/
If Canadians elect a Liberal government again for another (4th) term in a row, the following things are likely to happen in 🇨🇦. Depending who you are, it may be important to you.
1/
Younger Canadians will become increasingly frustrated at their inability to enjoy a lifestyle they grew up with themselves despite (in their view) working just as hard as their parents. This will result in a dangerous situation for social stability.
2/
These feelings of resentment will become magnified as these generations have children. The only thing worse than not being able to enjoy a standard of living you feel entitled to is not being able to provide your child the standard of living you feel they are entitled to.
