CHRIST.

More than 2 billion people in 160 countries celebrate his birth every year.

But most people only know 1% of who he really was.

15 Extraordinary Moments in the Life of Jesus, According to Scripture...

(13 will make you doubt if it was from this world).

Thread: 🧵 Image
1. Unusual birth, announced by a star

A child is born in a manger.

Meanwhile, wise men from the East see a unique star and follow it for weeks.

They were astrologers.

Somehow they knew that the newborn would be someone very important. Image
2. Herod ordered to kill him

Upon hearing of her birth, Herod, king of Judea, paranoid about losing power to the King of kings, ordered the killing of all babies under the age of 2.

That day would remain in the Christian calendar as the Massacre of the Holy Innocents. Image
3. He disappears for 18 years… and returns with unusual wisdom

At the age of 12, he astonished the teachers at the Temple of Jerusalem by speaking to them as equals. Then he disappeared.

He returns at 30 with a teaching so profound that it draws crowds and infuriates leaders. Image
4. First miracle: turns water into wine

In his first public miracle, Jesus transformed 600 liters of water into top-quality wine.

“You saved the best wine for last,” said the guests.
5. He multiplied food for thousands of people

5 loaves and 2 fish.

That was all. But Jesus fed more than 5,000 people, and there were still full baskets left over. Image
6. He walked on water… in the middle of a storm

His disciples see him approaching the boat where they were, walking on the water of the sea.

Peter tries to imitate him, but he sinks when he doubts.
7. Calm the wind and the sea with a phrase

In the midst of a storm, Jesus says:

“Shut up, be quiet.”

The wind and waves stop immediately.

His disciples, who knew him well, asked themselves:

“Who is this being, that even the sea obeys him?” Image
8. He healed lepers just by touching them

Leprosy was incurable and contagious.

No one wanted to get close to those affected.

But Jesus touched the sick and they were instantly healed.

One came running, screaming with joy... nine others didn't even come back to thank. Image
9. He resurrected a man who had been dead for 92 hours.

Lazarus was already buried when Jesus intervened.

“Lazarus, come out.”

And the dead man came out, wrapped in shrouds. Absolute astonishment.

He lived for several years after that. Image
10. He expelled demons that shouted his name in possessed human bodies

When they saw Jesus, the possessed said:

"Have you come to destroy us?"

Jesus didn't scream or perform long rituals... he just said:

“Get out of him.”

And the spirits obeyed.

People were stunned. Image
11. Protect a convicted adulterer

A group of men surrounded her to stone her, as was usual in the face of that sin. Jesus stands in the crowd and says:

"He who is free from sin, let him throw the first stone." Image
12. He raised a widow's son from the dead… in the middle of the funeral

Funeral of a young man in Nain.

As they carried the body, Jesus touched the coffin and the young man came to himself and stood up. Image
13. Shine like the sun in the transfiguration

On a mountain, his face shone as brightly as the morning sun, his clothes turned a deep white.

Moses and Elijah appeared and spoke to him... with their mouths open.

His disciples never forgot that day. Image

This 500-year-old portrait may seem ordinary, but it's one of the most mysterious in history.

There's so much detail that you can read every musical note on this small page.

But look closer — an unsettling secret is hiding in plain sight... 🧵 Image
The more you study Hans Holbein's "The Ambassadors," the more you realize why it's one of history's most analyzed paintings.

It's so detailed you can feel every thread in this rug... Image
Or see each individual page of this book — and even work out which arithmetic text it is (by German astronomer Peter Apian).

But why bother rendering every object so meticulously? Image

The Bible isn’t just a story.

It’s real history, written in stone and confirmed by archaeology.

Here are 8 discoveries that prove the Bible’s truth still stands today - a🧵✝️ Image
The Tunnel of Hezekiah 701 B.C

2 Kings 20 says King Hezekiah built a secret tunnel to bring water into Jerusalem during an Assyrian siege.

For centuries, skeptics called it legend.

Then in 1838, a 1,750-foot tunnel was discovered, carved into solid rock, exactly where Scripture said.

It’s real. You can walk through it today.Image

The Inscription of Pontius Pilate 1st c. A.D

For years, critics said Pilate was made up, a convenient villain for the Gospels.

But in 1961, archaeologists in Caesarea found a limestone block inscribed:

“Pontius Pilatus, Prefect of Judea”

The man who washed his hands of Christ? History never forgot.Image

Da Vinci's Last Supper is a keystone of Christian art.

It inspired centuries of awe and speculation — over its subtle symbols and concealed messages.

But there's something hidden that nearly everyone overlooks... (thread 🧵) Image
Many aren't aware it's a mural, painted on the wall of a church refectory in Milan.

It's survival today is a miracle — it came inches from destruction in WW2, and has faded so much that monks once felt happy to knock through Christ's feet for a new doorway. Image

But what makes it such a masterpiece?

Unlike most paintings of the Last Supper, Leonardo decided against a calm dispensing of bread and wine. Instead, the Apostles reel in shock at Christ's announcement:

"One of you will betray me"... Image

Now that we are in Holy Week, it is a good time to talk about the film THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST.

Before filming began, Mel Gibson warned Jim Caviezel that the character would be very difficult and that if he accepted the role, he could end up marginalized in Hollywood.

Jim asked for a day - 🧵Image
Image
Jim asked for a day think about it and replied: “I think we have to do it, even if it’s difficult. Besides, my initials are JC and I’m 33 years old. I hadn’t realized it until now.”
Mel responded with a sincere: “You’re scaring me.” Image

During filming, actor Jim Caviezel (in the role of Jesus of Nazareth) lost about 20 kilos, was struck by lightning, accidentally received two lashes from the whip that left him with a 14-centimeter scar, dislocated his shoulder, and suffered pneumonia and hypothermia from hanging almost naked on a cross for several hours outdoors.
