The US have never stopped funding Pakistan. During the Soviet-Afghan War, the US, in a bid to counter Soviet expansion, carried a covert CIA initiative that funneled billions of dollar through Pakistan's ISI to arm & train Afghan mujahideen fighters to repel the Soviet forces. 1/
By channeling billions in funds and arms through Pak’s ISI—Washington enabled the unchecked empowerment of radical Islamist factions. One of the primary beneficiaries was Gulbuddin Hekmatyar’s Hezb-e Islami, a group known for its extremist leanings and internecine violence.
2/
However, this short-term alliance created long-term monsters. Many of the foreign fighters recruited through this pipeline were trained in Pakistan-based camps and indoctrinated with a radical interpretation of Islam. These networks didn’t dissolve after the Soviets withdrew. 3/
Instead, they metastasized. These mujahideen formed the backbone of the Taliban in the 1990s, provided sanctuary to Osama bin Laden & alQaeda grps that later orchestrated 9/11 attacks. Ironically, the very fighters once hailed by U.S turned their guns on their former patrons. 4/
After 9/11, Pak became a key ally of US in the War on Terror, receiving huge aids. While publicly supporting U.S. efforts against al-Qaeda & the Taliban, elements within Pakistan's military continued to provide support to these sub state actors including the Haqqani network. 5/
The discovery of Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad in 2011 finally strained relations with Pakistan. Before that US was the largest supplier of arms and aids to Pakistan. No other nation has received such foreign assistance to equip its millitary infrastructure in the world. 6/
US, being the largest donor to the IMF,continues to give loans & bailouts for Pakistan's deep state which maintains an umbilical relationship with terror networks. In doing so, Washington effectively bankrolls a revanchist state that has made terrorism as a tool of statecraft. 7/
For all its performative outrage against global terrorism, Washington’s duplicity in underwriting a state that operationalizes militant extremism as geopolitical leverage is staggering. It reflects a willful blindness that compromises both peace and stability it claims to uphold.

In a bombshell revelation, The Reporter's Collective exposed how the GOI tweaked rules for Adani's power deal.
It's been over 24 hrs, yet not a word of denial from the Power Ministry, Renewable Energy Ministry, or SECI.
Has GoI silently accepted these allegations?
Thread. 1/
This is the first time allegations on the ₹2000 CR bribe gate have crawled upto the doorsteps of the govt.
The SECI acts as intermediary to buy power from power companies and sell it to states for a commission. Along with Renewable Energy Min, it sets the auction specifics.
2/
In 2018, SECI designed manufacturing-linked auctions to favor companies involved in both solar power production and component manufacturing, a criteria tailor-made for a select few. This lessened competition from other companies and Adani became a clear beneficiary of it. 3/
Mumbai has been 'half sold' to Adani. If you think it's a rhetoric, the joke is on you.
Here are key facts:
Adani took over Mumbai airport after agencies raided GVK. Astonishingly, the CBI court later found no corruption by GVK but Adani acquired 74% stakes in Mumbai Airport. 1/
Adani controls Mumbai's electricity supply, impacting over 3 million suburban people with arbitrary tariff hikes. Just before elections, the Maha govt quietly handed Adani a lucrative 6,600 MW contract for the next 25 yrs—effectively tying the state’s power future to the grp. 2/
Mumbai's real estate has always been a golden goose for investors. Adani owns over 8.21 lakh sq ft property in Bandra Kurla Complex. He also acquired a bankrupt Radius Estate with 98% less than what the company's creditors demand. Besides, Mr A has vast lands in Navi Mumbai. 3/
A mountain of blistering accusations has piled up against Madhavi Puri Buch.
1)The current SEBI Chairperson & her husband, Dhaval Buch, had hidden stakes in the exact same obscure offshore Bermuda & Mauritius funds, found in the same complex nested structure, used by Vinod Adani
2) Inspite of clear conflict of interest, she did not recuse herself & gave a clean chit to Adani.
3) That's not all, she had several conflict of interest. She promoted REIT as an asset class as SEBI chair & it is alleged that Blackstone in which her husband works gained frm it.
4) SEBI Approved companies like Mindspace sponsored by Blackstone to publicly IPO
5) Madhabi Buch had a 99% stake in Agora Advisory, where her husband is a Director.
In 2022, this entity reported $261,000 Revenue from consulting, 4.4 Times her disclosed salary at SEBI.
India has been quietly demoted in Russia's geopolitical playbook. Russian oil imports has been decreasing. NDA propagandists will be burning midnight oil to assure everyone that God in his Heaven and all's right with the world. They will hide hard facts.
Here are some facts: 1/
1) Crude Oil Imports: Since November of last yr, crude oil imports have seen a significant decline till April. And, this downturn wasn’t solely New Delhi’s decision. The stark drop in Russian oil imports begs a critical question : Is Moscow losing interest in India’s oil market?
2) Decline in Arms Supply: Russia's arms supply to India has dropped from 60% to just 45%. Russia was one of the strongest defense ally of India but that seems to have taken a hit. Meanwhile, defense cooperation between China and Russia has reached record highs.
"It can't happen here" thought millions of Germans in 1933 as they handed power to Hitler. They thought were safe from the rage of the masses until death & tragedy razed their nation.
Today India is edging towards fascism, but many dismiss it with disbelief. This one for them. 1/
After the Reichstag Fire, Hitler wielded the Reichstag Fire Decree as a weapon to strip away civil liberties. Mass incarcerations of communists followed. Today, India echoes this authoritarian playbook with the UAPA, a law used to imprison individuals indefinitely without reason.
The Gestapo army was Hitler's secret police force to do surveillance and suppress political dissenters. India's use of Pegasus surveillance portends a chilling resemblance of the Gestapo during the Nazi era. The tricks are old, just the methods are new. 3/
NEET is a calamitous embodiment of systemic failure; millions of students have been SCAMMED for 8 interminable yrs. The paper leak scam is just the tip of the iceberg. Beneath lies a sinister apparatus that goes against principles of social, economic & political justice.
A thread
It blatantly favors the affluent. Back in 2015-16, over half of the admissions (51.38%) into govt colleges were by students from families < 2.5 lakhs annually. In 2020-21, and that number plummeted to a mere 41%, exposing a decline in opportunities for those on the lower rung. 2/
NEET has dramatically widened the rural-urban divide. Post-NEET, rural student admissions plummeted while urban students soared, despite most Indians living in rural areas. The booming, expensive urban coaching industry has made success unaffordable for rural students. 3/
