According to this NYT report what got the Americans after initial nonchalance was fear of Pakistan’s nuclear installations getting decapitated by India. India had moved from destroying terror bases to Pakistan’s Air bases. Within minutes India destroyed Pakistan’s 11 air bases. Most importantly Nur Khan base which is a short distance from Pakistan’s nuclear facility.

India was adamant. According to NYT report and this quotes only American sources, when Vance spoke to PM he committed nothing, agreed to nothing. Rubio then got into action and pressed that there is a strong chance of dramatic escalation. Ceasefire seems to have been agreed upon after Rubio spoke to Asim Munir.

India in four days acted with restraint yet when Pakistan retaliated, replied with much fiercer fury. Pakistan sent drones and missiles, India attacked their air bases, Pakistan and India got into serious dog fights, and America got nervous.

India’s goals had been achieved by the time DGMO’s talked ceasefire. 1) Key terror facilities destroyed 2) 100 terrorists dead 3) Pakistan’s heartbeat Nur Khan base breached along with 12 others 4) No part of Pakistan safe from India’s missiles. 5) Nuclear bluff called

At this time it seems India took a call of ceasefire. However this has been interpreted differently. America calls it a ceasefire, India calls it ‘suspension of military activity’, Pakistan calls it ‘America mediated ceasefire’ .

So what seems to have happened is Pakistan yet again negotiated with gun pointing to its head, America yet again panicked and India agreed to giving Pakistan an exit. Pakistan true to their filthy character are using the exit to declare victory. India hasn’t committed to any permanent ceasefire nor it is on the table. Pakistan can either now stop or bring both countries to the brink again .

Now here is what civilized world especially America needs to think. Will Pakistan be allowed to keep its nuclear arsenal so that it brings the world to the brink of nuclear war again and again or should Pakistan be denuclearized. Why was IMF loan approved? Why could Pakistan’s nose not be rubbed to the ground? Pakistan’s economy is nothing. The pressure to denuclearize should come from America. India cannot be expected to be this generous again and again.

Here is what satellite imagery in next few days will show- Pakistan’s airbases were completely breached and Chinese air defense systems could not intercept Indian missiles. At this point, ceasefire was in China’s interest too. India emerges as winner as far as stated objectives. However enemy still stands albeit exposed and vulnerable.
