The hadith from Sahih Muslim Book 1, Hadith 8a (commonly referred to as the Hadith of Jibreel) is one of the most foundational and widely narrated traditions in Islam. It provides not only a complete summary of Islam (submission), Iman (faith), and Ihsan (spiritual excellence), but also presents clear signs of the Latter Days—the era in which the Messiah and Mahdi was to appear.

Key Latter Day Signs in the Hadith:
1.“The slave-girl will give birth to her mistress/master”
•Interpreted by classical scholars to symbolize social upheaval, inversion of norms, and generational rebellion, where children treat their parents like servants or societal roles are upended.
•Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) explained that this refers to the moral and societal decline of the latter days, including a breakdown of respect between generations and the rise of modern materialistic values that displace spirituality and traditional ethics.
2.“Barefooted, destitute goatherds will compete in constructing tall buildings”
•A striking prophecy about the rise of previously underdeveloped nations, particularly in the Arabian Peninsula (e.g., the Gulf States), where shepherds and Bedouins have built some of the tallest skyscrapers in the world today (e.g., Burj Khalifa).
•This transformation did not occur in the classical Islamic period, but is a phenomenon of the modern age, especially the 20th and 21st centuries.
•Therefore, this specific sign confirms that we are now living in the “Latter Days.”

Conclusion of this sign in the Hadith:
“That means the Messiah/Mahdi has already appeared.”

This is a correct deduction—and one that Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), the Promised Messiah and Mahdi, himself made more than a century ago.

Ahmadi Understanding from the Qur’an and Hadith:
1.The Holy Qur’an foretells the revival of faith by one raised among Muslims:
“He it is Who has raised among the unlettered people a Messenger from among themselves… and [will raise him] among others of them who have not yet joined them.”
(Surah Al-Jumu‘ah 62:3–4)

•The Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) was asked who these “others” are. He placed his hand on Hazrat Salman the Persian (ra) and said:
“Even if faith were to ascend to the Pleiades, a man from among these would bring it back.”
(Sahih Bukhari)
•Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) declared that he is that prophesied man, raised to revive Islam, not bring a new faith.
2.No New Prophet or Mahdi Remains to Come:
•Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) stated:
“I am the Mahdi whose advent was awaited… and it is me to whom all the signs point.”
(Tadhkiratush-Shahadatain, Ruhani Khazain Vol. 20)

Analysis of the Second Part of the Hadith: Divine Decree (Qadr)

The first part of the hadith emphasizes belief in Qadr (Divine Decree) as a central tenet of Islam. Denial of it removes a person from the fold of Islam.

This is a response to the early Qadariyya who denied predestination. The Ahmadiyya interpretation reconciles divine decree and human free will:
•Allah’s knowledge encompasses all events, but man has free will and is accountable for his actions.
•Qadr is not fatalism—it’s recognition of God’s ultimate authority, while we are morally responsible for our choices.

Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) clarified:

“Qadr does not mean that man has no choice, but that Allah knows from eternity what each person will choose, and He has power to intervene when He wills.”
(Lecture Sialkot, Ruhani Khazain Vol. 20)

Final Remark: Who Was the Inquirer?

The inquirer was Jibreel (as) in human form—sent to teach the essence of religion.
•This underscores the divine importance of the three layers of Islam: Islam (outward acts), Iman (inner belief), and Ihsan (spiritual excellence).
•It also reminds us that the Latter Days are marked by moral decline and material dominance—as we see today.

Conclusion (Ahmadi Muslim View):

The signs narrated in Sahih Muslim Hadith 8a have been literally fulfilled in our era. The Latter Days are now, and the Messiah and Mahdi has already appeared in the person of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) of Qadian.

He is the Divinely appointed Reformer, and the only claimant who:
•Fulfilled the Hadith of lunar and solar eclipses in Ramadan,
•Declared that the rise of Arab wealth and buildings marks the end times,
•And revived the faith with heavenly support and fulfilled prophecies.

If you’re seeking the Mahdi, he has come—and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama‘at is his community.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) lived the simplest life imaginable — even when he ruled an empire. At times, he had no food for days, tying stones to his stomach to suppress hunger.
At other times, he distributed millions worth of treasure in a single sitting and went home hungry
Hadith:
“A month would pass with no fire lit in his house (for cooking). They survived on dates and water.”
(Sahih Bukhari)
At death, his shield was mortgaged for barley. He left behind no gold, no land, no fortune. Only prayer, humility, and love.

(SAW)
Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) wrote about the Holy Prophet ﷺ:

“When the world came running to him, he turned away from it.
He chose poverty over kingship, and scattered wealth like dust.
He preferred the love of Allah over all things.”
(Sirat al-Mahdi, Barahin-e-Ahmadiyya)

Many groups today claim to have the Mahdi or Messiah.
But who actually matches the 10 major Hadith signs?
(Appearance during Muslim strife, name Ahmad/Muhammad, East origin, sky signs, ending wars, etc.)
•AROPL? ❌
•Jamaat al-Qurban? ❌
•Divine Truth Movement? ❌
•Messiah Foundation? ❌
•Twelve Tribes? ❌
None fulfill even 3 out of 10 Hadith signs.
Only Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as):
✔ Name Ahmad
✔ Appeared amid Muslim collapse
✔ From the East (India)
✔ No new Shari‘ah
✔ Peaceful Jihad
✔ Ramadan eclipses (1894)
✔ Rejected by scholars
✔ Defeated Dajjal spiritually
✔ Natural death

The Mahdi was prophesied by the Holy Prophet (sa) to come in the East, preach peace, reject worldly power, and be recognized by divine signs. That prophecy has already been fulfilled. False claimants come and go — truth endures. #TrueIslam #Ahmadiyya Image

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) foretold the coming of the Mahdi:

“Even if faith ascended to the Pleiades, a man from Persia would bring it back.”
(Sahih Bukhari, Tafsir of Surah Jumu‘ah; also Mishkat al-Masabih)
The Mahdi would be of Persian descent — not Arab or American.
He also said the Mahdi would appear in the East:
“A voice will call out from the sky that the truth lies with the Mahdi and his followers.”
“When you see him, go to him—even if you have to crawl over ice.”(Ibn Majah) This sign was fulfilled in Qadian, India — not TikTok.

Federal court found Abdullah Hashem guilty of fraud, extortion & racketeering in a scheme to defame and exploit a religious group for profit. Court ordered return of stolen footage. Zero credibility. #AROPL #FraudExposed #FalseMessiah #MahdiHasAppeared Image

In 2008, a U.S. federal court exposed Abdullah Hashem—the man behind AROPL—as a fraudster who used Islam as a cover for blackmail, extortion, and defamation.
This isn’t Mahdihood. It’s fitna.

Hadith Thread: Mahdi of Persian Descent
Did the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) foretell that the Mahdi would be from Persia?
Yes. A powerful prophecy in Sahih sources points directly to this truth.
#TrueIslam #Mahdi #Hadith
#MahdiHasAppeared
The Prophet (sa) said:
“Even if faith ascended to the Pleiades, a man from among the Persians would surely bring it back.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari, Musnad Ahmad, Tirmidhi

Arabic:
“لَوْ كَانَ الإِيمَانُ عِندَ الثُّرَيَّا لَنَالَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ فَارِسَ”
This Hadith refers to a spiritual revival when Islam would be in decline.
The Prophet (sa) specifies a man from Persia—rajulun min Faris—would restore lost faith.
This cannot refer to the Sahaba, who were already present.
It refers to a future divinely guided reformer.

Did you know?
There’s no authentic Hadith that says Salat (prayer) will be abandoned when the Mahdi or Messiah appears. In fact, the opposite is true: they will revive the spirit and practice of Islam — especially Salat.

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) foretold about the Mahdi:

“He will follow my Sunnah and will not awaken those who sleep nor shed blood.”
(Kanz al-‘Ummāl, Hadith 38661)
He will be peaceful and deeply devoted to the Sunnah — including prayer.
The Prophet (ﷺ) also said:

“Then your Imam from among you will lead you in prayer.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, Kitāb al-Īmān)
This refers to the Mahdi. Salat will not end — it will be led by a righteous Imam during his time.
