Unfortunately for Nye, Luft has since been indicted as a foreign agent of China.
During the period when Nye endorsed Luft’s writings, the DOJ claims that Luft publicly planted “information that was favorable to China” which was then “sent to … individuals in the United States, including a journalist and professors at multiple US universities”.

In typical DOJ fashion, Luft’s scheme was only revealed when, as a fugitive from justice, he sought to engage the DOJ with information about the Biden family compromise by CEFC

Rebuffed by the DOJ in 2019, Luft reemerged with his claims in 2023.
At this point Bidens’ DOJ unsealed their indictment against Luft for FARA violations, arms trafficking, sanctions violation, and making false statements
