There isn't really a media outlet that keeps a running account of the number of Palestinians killed at aid distribution centres operated by the Israeli & American-run Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. This 🧵tracks the massacres at GHF sites since it launched on May 27, 2025

I use both media reports, announcements from international aid orgs and releases from Gaza Health Ministry, Media Office & Civil Defense Agency for numbers and confirmation. In some cases, there is a discrepancy in numbers between both, which can be attributed to media outlets publishing initial numbers and not keeping track of the wounded succumbing to injuries.

But in every case, I was able to confirm through at least two independent sources that Palestinians were killed and injured while seeking food at GHF centres on that day.

As of June 16, 2025 - 337 Palestinians were killed & 2,649 injured seeking aid at 4 GHF distribution centres mapped below. Int. aid orgs have criticized the centres locations as it forces people to travel to them instead of distributing aid where people are

On May 27, 2025 - the day GHF began operations - Three people were killed with the head of UNRWA, decrying the US-backed delivery model as a “distraction from atrocities”. 46 people were injured (GMO) and at least 7 people were reported missing by @pcmfd2

May 28, 2025 - 10 killed (GMO) and 89 injured, most of them at the warehouse in central Gaza. As thousands of Palestinians rushed through the fencing at the site, GHF lost control of the site with IDF troops firing shots. They denied any casualties.

June 1, 2025 - Over 30 people were killed & over 200 wounded when IDF started firing at large crowds near a GHF centre in Rafah. The military denied this while the head of UNRWA denounced GHF saying "aid distribution has become a death trap.”

Two people, a father and his 12-year old son, were also reported missing on May 29 after the went to the centre by @pcmfd2 , but were added to the June 1 count by Gaza Health Ministry and media office.

June 2, 2025 - More than 20 people were killed and 122 wounded. IDF initially said it was unaware of any injuries from Israeli fire, but a military official later confirmed that troops had fired warning shots toward “suspects”. GHF denied any incident

June 6, 2025 - 8 Palestinians killed & 142 injured at a roundabout ~1 km from the centre in Rafah. The new chairman of GHF, said they "can't control what happens outside" the centres and there were incidents outside "as one would expect, in a war."

June 8, 2025 - 11 killed (GMO) and 193 wounded at two GHF distribution points in Rafah. To note, the hubs are set up inside Israeli military zones — where independent media have no access. GHF denied any violence in or around its sites

June 9, 2025 - 11 killed and 249 injured when Israeli forces and "allied local gunmen" fired at a crowd heading to the distribution centre. This is the first mention of local militias, armed by IDF, shooting at Palestinians in Israeli military zones.

June 10, 2025 - 36 people, according to GMO, and Reuters reporting at least 17 Palestinians killed by Israeli gunfire. IDF says these were "warning shots at suspects" and "posed a threat to troops". 295 people were injured.

June 13 & June 14, 2025 - 29 Palestinians were killed and 380 injured, most of them in central Gaza. At this point, Gaza was without internet for more than two days, making it difficult for people to know when GHF was open or closed.

June 16, 2025 - Media reports of at least 34 Palestinians were killed at two distribution centre in Gaza. No numbers on injured yet, but media reporting refers to this as "deadliest yet" although the toll was higher on June 11.

June 17, 2025 - Israeli forces kill 70 Palestinians & injure over 300 while they wait in line for food at a GHF centre. This is now the deadliest day on record. Eyewitness and doctors report that it's not just gunfire but tanks are firing at people.

Update on June 17, 2025 - Latest numbers from Gaza Health Ministry revises the number of Palestinians killed to 59 and injured to 200. It still remains the deadliest day on record so far, bringing the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli fire while waiting for food to 397.

June 18, 2025 - 12 Palestinians are killed and 172 injured while seeking aid when Israeli forces opened fire at thousands of people queuing up near a GHF distribution centre. GHF refused to comment and said that they have distributed food "without incident"

June 19, 2025 - 31 Palestinians are killed by Israeli forces near GHF sites. This is also the first time that IDF confirmed to AFP that airstrikes were used saying “an aircraft struck and eliminated the suspects in order to remove the threat."
