@YouAreLobbyLud Here's one of the longest-running SARS-CoV-2 wastewater series (red line)—San Jose, CA.

It shows the reality underneath the terms "during the pandemic" and "post-pandemic".

The public is totally divorced from this reality. Image

Outrageous: A whole show on young people's growing complaints of memory loss that never once mentions they've all had COVID—whose frequent long-term effect is memory loss.
No—it's due to multitasking, sleep loss, screen time, stress...
This is crazy making

The psychologist Dr. Elizabeth Kensinger explicitly mentions the centrality of the hippocampus for memory, but seems utterly unaware that COVID can injure the hippocampus:
link.springer.com/article/10.100…
"As a result of what happened in the hippocampus secondary to COVID-19, memory impairment may be a long-term neurological complication which can be a predisposing factor for neurodegenerative disorders through neuroinflammation & oxidative stress mechanisms."

Let's itemize the rhetorical strategies used here.
1—"the MINORITY of Doctors wear masks."
yourlogicalfallacyis.com/bandwagon x.com/richardhirschs…
2—"Humans have survived millions of years without prolonged masking. Our immune systems have evolved, adapted, and become stronger."
yourlogicalfallacyis.com/appeal-to-natu…
3—"And finally, if I am wrong, does anyone think we can hide from a ubiquitous aerosolised virus with a surgical mask for long? Do we think continued social distancing, lockdowns, isolation, and masking school kids is the way to go?"

If you've been in circumstances where a PAPR was just the PPE you needed, but cost was prohibitive, here's your moment:
$151.67 (Reg : $1,056.33) Bullard

and
$136.57 (Reg : $1,086.61) Honeywell
fishersci.com/shop/products/…
fishersci.com/shop/products/…
The "Assigned Protection Factors" of each are a function of the facepiece:
Bullard—1000, hood
Honeywell—25, loose fitting facepiece
I'm unfamiliar with APRs. This page shows half-masks as 10, full-facepieces as 100.
Can anyone clarify?

It appears that the Honeywell has been discontinued.
Here is its archived link that no longer is on Honeywell:

Today's variant report for Hawai`i shows what's behind Hawaii's biggest COVID surge in 2 years (per wastewater):
KP.2—1.2x, KP.3—10x, KP.1.1-1.7x, LB.1, KW.1.1—3x
from 4/20 to 5/18
No data on the past month—but KP.3 & LB.1 showed the fastest recent growth

Hawai`i COVID hospitalizations are still rising—the highest now since the BA.2/5 surge of 2022, greater than 83% of all the days of the pandemic so far.

No, this is not 2020, not 2021. This is now.
—closure not just due to illness, but due to COVID hospitalizations.

"All indoor programs at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park have been called off due to an increase in COVID hospitalizations"

CDC shows this spike in Hawai`i hospitalizations.

But it's not matched by increased positivity in ER visits.
HI DOH will release its data tomorrow so we should get some clarification. covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tra…

Appalling gaslighting by PBS News Hour tonight.

First, look at the SARS2 levels in San Jose wastewater.
At what date did the pandemic end and the post-pandemic period begin?
Hard to pick a date, given levels now are higher than the Delta wave peak & half-way up BA.1's peak. 1/ Image
Now to PBS:
"Travel writer Rick Steves shares advice on navigating post-pandemic travel".

He's not referring to the future—he means now. 2/
pbs.org/newshour/show/…
Host @johnyangtv speaks of the pandemic in the past:

"Were there any differences pre-pandemic and post-pandemic?"

"During the pandemic there was a lot of that sort of tunnel vision..."
