Here’s everything we know about the masked movement in Saudi Arabia.
🧵 Thread 1,2,3,4,5,
1.
First, freedom of speech is nearly nonexistent. According to many reports, expressing an opinion that contradicts the official narrative can result in up to 20 years in prison.
This has pushed ordinary citizens to appear in videos wearing masks and shmagh to conceal their identities.
Dozens of such videos have surfaced from cities across the kingdom, where the masked citizens criticize:
1.Normalization with Israel
2.The secularization of society through government-funded concerts, music festivals, and nightclubs
3.Bin Salman’s policies
4.Harsh living conditions according to them.
The masked men exchanged greetings with other masked men, declaring they would not back down until the fall of MBS and some went further and said the entire Al-Saud family.
Almost all of them emphasized their peaceful approach, until the masked Qassab appeared.
2.
Qassab
A masked man from within the kingdom introduced himself as the spokesman of the Free Masked Movement (#حركة_الملثمين_الاحرار).
In his announcement, he saluted all the free people in the Muslim world and referred to the leaders of Muslim-majority countries as rulers of disgrace and shame.
he claimed that the movement had successfully established an anti-state structure operating from inside Saudi Arabia.
He stated the following:
1.The Free Masked Movement has reorganized itself into two divisions:
•A military-security division made up of dissident officers and personnel
•A civilian division composed of ordinary citizens
2.Qassab said that operatives from the movement had tracked, monitored, and filmed a royal convoy from point-blank range.
3.He added that, in response to public pressure, the movement had temporarily postponed direct armed confrontations with regime security forces.
4.He also revealed that, through its security operatives, the movement had successfully smuggled six individuals out of Saudi prisons.
His talk of potential armed action drew backlash from what he referred to as the civilian division of the masked movement, who had committed to a peaceful approach.
Breakdown of the latest Hamas ambush that targeted Israeli force in Rafah
🧵 Thread: 1, 2, 3, 4
1,
Location:
The ambush took place near Mashroo Junction, east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
Date:
Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
2.
From the footage, it appears Hamas fighters had been monitoring the Israeli forces in the house-turned-military-base and had planned the operation for days or even weeks, planting cameras in the intended ambush area after rigging it with explosives.
First, Hamas fighters emerged from a tunnel just meters away from a large Palestinian house used by an Israeli army force as a military base in the area.
They began by targeting the ground floor with firearms and anti-fortification shells to lure the Israeli soldiers into the ambush area.
