🚨🚨🚨The House Appropriations Committee @HouseAppropsGOP opposes @realDonaldTrump’s mass deportations/immigration enforcement agenda. The Committee marked up the FY26 DHS Appropriations bill yesterday. Here’s what they did. (The fact that these amendments were adopted by voice vote means EVERY SINGLE MEMBER of the Committee is complicit.)🧵👇

1. Require ICE to prioritize criminal aliens, rather than all illegal aliens (@MarkAmodeiNV2 Republican En Bloc Amendment #1–adopted by VOICE VOTE);

2. Increase the number of low-skilled foreign guest workers (H-2B visas) for 2026 from 66,000 to 238,480;
Allow the US dairy industry to import an unlimited number of foreign guest workers (H-2A visas) to take full-time, year-round jobs, even though H-2A visas are only available for seasonal jobs, by law;
Allow carnivals to import unlimited foreign guest workers (P visas) to work concession stands, operate rides, and perform maintenance, among other jobs, even though P visas are supposed to be for athletes, artists, and entertainers coming to the US temporarily to perform. 3. Scolds @USCIS for ending Biden’s unlawful parole program for Ukrainians (@RepMikeQuigley Amendment—adopted by VOICE VOTE);

4. “Encourage” @ICEgov to avoid making arrests of illegal aliens at “sensitive locations” (@MarkAmodeiNV2/@RepEspaillat Amendment—adopted by VOICE VOTE);

5. Prohibit @ICEgov from detaining or deporting a US citizen, so if ICE officers are being obstructed in their duties by a US citizen, they can’t arrest the obstructor, AND if an illegal alien decides to take his or her US citizen child to the home country when being deported, ICE can’t keep the child with the parent. So much for keeping families together! (@RepEscobar Amendment—adopted by VOICE VOTE);

6. Urge @ICEgov to avoid making arrests at courthouses—you know, the places where illegal aliens are unarmed and it is safer for the aliens and the officers! (@RepCiscomani/@RepEscobar Amendment—adopted by VOICE VOTE); and

7. Direct @Sec_Noem to reconsider her termination of Temporary Protected Status for Venezuelans (@DWStweets/@MarkAmodeiNV2 Amendment—adopted by VOICE VOTE.
