George Orwell’s “As I See It” Podcast Slot – June 27, 2025

Intro music fades, Orwell’s voice, gravelly and deliberate, cuts through...

'Good evening, listeners. This is George Orwell, and this is my five-minute take on the world as it stands—raw, unfiltered, and as I see it.
Let’s start with the global situation. Power, as ever, breeds conflict. The world’s great powers—America, China, Russia, and their satellites—jockey for dominance, cloaking their ambitions in moral rhetoric. The wars in Ukraine and Gaza are not isolated tragedies but symptoms of
a deeper rot: the eternal scramble for control, resources, and narrative. Both conflicts, though distinct, share a common thread—great powers using smaller nations as chessboards, while the human cost piles up like so much collateral damage.
Ukraine, now in its third year of war since Russia’s invasion, is a grim tableau of attrition. It began with Putin’s imperial delusion—restoring a lost empire, crushing a neighbor’s sovereignty under the guise of “security.” NATO, led by the U.S., fuels the resistance with arms..

This was enough to make her additional list MSP for Lothian?
Okay, so far, so good...
...2 years ago she was caught, along with Mr Potato Harvie and Velcro Greer, in a pub, not doing the social-distancing thing. They all said 'oops' and that appears to have been the end of it (compare with treatment of Margaret Ferrier).
2 months later she was a co-signatory of /
/ the Bute House Agreement with aforementioned Tattie-Heid and the FM, She Who Now Works From Home. (Exactly when Slater became co-leader of the Green party is not clear, not to me anyway.)

FFS, isn't there anyone in this country capable of holding these corrupt bastards to account?!
How much more of this utterly infuriating embarrassing shite are we supposed to tolerate?
HOW MUCH MORE!?
All the pious bleating, the finger-wagging, ‘progressive’ self-satisfied pishery they’ve been ramming in our faces for years now, and all the while they were up to fuck knows what.
12 years since the SNP landslide and we started to dare dreaming again. We trusted them with all that hope accumulated over generations and look what they’ve done with it.
In another age they would’ve been strung up without trial.
