One bill did not get us in this mess and one bill will not get us out. This is a continuing resolution of BIDEN's spending bill with a reconciliation that only requires a majority vote.
The White House request cuts 7.6% discretionary spending from Biden's 2025 level spending. What Congress has done with it remains to be seen.
The issue with rasing the debt ceiling is a non-starter, as it always gets raised to prevent default. We do it now with a simple majority and take an arrow out the democrats quiver before the mid-terms, or it will require 60 votes in the Senate and the democrats will use it as leverage to add back their reckless pork. Just plain common sense. No fast talk will get around these facts. whitehouse.gov/wp-content/upl…
Per Grok: "The current U.S. debt ceiling is $36.1 trillion, reinstated on January 2, 2025, following the expiration of a suspension period that began in June 2023. The U.S. government breached this limit on January 13, 2025, and the Treasury Department has been using "extraordinary measures" to avoid default since January 21, 2025. These measures are expected to be exhausted by August or September 2025, according to the Congressional Budget Office, unless Congress raises or suspends the debt ceiling."
@CitizenFreePres Come September Trump will be able to present his agenda in new appropriations proposal. This is where a lot of the DOGE cuts can be added. Additionallly, the White House has stated they will be presenting more rescission request.
Pass the bill and lets move on...
