Researchers took canine influenza (H3N2-CIV) and deliberately co-infected dog tracheal tissue with:
The 2009 pandemic swine flu (H1N1pdm) and the Avian flu H9N2 which is known for high cytokine storms in humans.
They then serially passaged the virus i.e. sped up evolution in a lab.
The result was “reassortants” or simply put, hybrid flu viruses containing gene segments from both parental viruses.
In their own words:
“The co-infection of canine tracheal explants by H3N2-CIV and H1N1pdm or H9N2-G1H led to a remarkably high rate of reassortment. […] All reassortants replicated with similar or greater efficiency as compared to the parental strains. […] The drastic enhancement in viral replication is concerning and implies a high potential of these reassortants to be introduced into the human population.”
Why yes, that is concerning considering they intentionally created new, viable flu strains with human infection potential by mixing animal and human-origin influenza viruses.
Designed to enhance transmissibility, replication, and potentially pathogenicity.

Think about this. They searched for and euthanized stray dogs, harvested their windpipes, and used them as mixing vessels to engineer novel flu viruses.
How fucked up is that?
This while using the same demented logic that gave us Wuhan’s bat coronavirus experiments and we all know how that turned out.
They even tested cytokine levels aka, markers of pathogenicity and found many of the lab-made strains provoked stronger immune responses than the natural viruses.
Some triggered high levels of TNF-α, associated with severe lung inflammation and ARDS.
One of the reassortants from H3N2-CIV and H9N2-G1H showed superior replication to both of its parents despite lacking the full high-cytokine PB2 gene from H9N2.
Meaning even partial gene swaps are enough to increase human infectivity.

Then they redefine gain-of-function until it fits through the loophole and launder pandemic risk through academic institutions with plausible deniability.
If it wasn’t clear enough by now, lab-based viral engineering is still the most underreported existential risk of our time and yet they’re still doing it with funding and impunity.
@DrJBhattacharya and @RobertKennedyJr I implore you to look into this and withdraw the funding for these highly risky experiments that clearly meet the definition of gain of function despite what the researchers may claim.
This is yet another disaster waiting to happen, don’t let it happen on your watch.
