🚨💀🇺🇸 As the Empire of Chaos turns 249 today, let's remember all the times when US regime changes didn't go as planned.

Iran & Russia are on the list 👇

🧵 Image
1️⃣ IRAN

Recent Israeli & US aggression on Iran led to expectations of a widespread revolt in DC neocon circles.

Instead, Iranians rallied behind their state, remembering the last time a CIA coup put a puppet shah in power. 😏
2️⃣AFGHANISTAN

Invading in late 2001 together with a NATO+ coalition, the US thought a ‘liberal interventionism at gunpoint’ approach would turn Afghanistan into a compliant client.

Instead, they spent 20 years and $2T to replace the Taliban... with the Taliban.
3️⃣VENEZUELA

▪️ 2002: A US-backed coup against Chavez collapsed in hours after the public rallied against plotters

▪️ 2019: The US tried to install Juan Guaido, a no-name with a 3% approval rating

▪️ 2020: A ‘Bay of Piglets’ plot to kidnap Maduro failed spectacularly Image
4️⃣RUSSIA

After backing Yeltsin’s 1993 bombing of parliament and rigging the 1996 election, the US thought it could control Russia.

Putin crushed those dreams.

The 2011-2012 Bolotnaya Square color revolution attempt quickly fizzled, & Soros, USAID & NED got banned. Image
5️⃣CHINA

In 1989, the US sought to trigger a color revolution in China.

Nipping Tiananmen Square protests in the bud, China later recognized the US’s “inglorious role” in “directly masterminding” the unrest.

Now, the West can only wave “tank man” in China’s face. Image
6️⃣ANGOLA

After the anti-Portuguese colonial revolution of 1975, the US spent $1B funding a UNITA dirty war in Angola against a Moscow-friendly government.

The bloody conflict lasted until 2002 and claimed 800k lives, but the US ultimately failed to oust the ruling MPLA.
7️⃣VIETNAM

The US poured $1T into Vietnam, costing 383k American lives and 4M Vietnamese.

They dropped 14X more bombs than in the Pacific Theater of WWII (100 Hiroshimas) but still failed. Image
8️⃣CUBA

After the 1959 Revolution, the US obsessed over regime change in Cuba:

▪️ 1961 CIA-backed Bay of Pigs invasion

▪️ 1962 Operation Northwoods – false flag plot to kill Americans & blame it on Cuba to justify invasion

▪️ Over 600 plots to kill Castro
9️⃣KOREA

During the Korean War, the US bombed North Korea into the stone age, killing 2M+ civilians

Despite regime change at gunpoint, North Korea survived 75+ years of US military & economic aggression Image
🔟 WHEN REGIME CHANGE BACKFIRES

Even when regime change worked, it didn’t always last:

🔸 Ortega (Nicaragua): ousted in 1990 ➡️ back in 2006

🔸 Morales (Bolivia): ousted in 2019 ➡️ ally Arce won in 2020

🔸Sankara (Burkina Faso): killed in 1987 ➡️ Traore became his heir in 2022Image

🚨 Ukrainian troops caught in civilian clothes: What Russia warned about

Even Western media now admit Ukrainian soldiers regularly wear civilian clothes and use unmarked cars to evade strikes.

Here's a breakdown of how Ukraine's military is exploiting civilians 🧵👇 Image
1️⃣Human shields

Since the special military operation's outset, the Ukrainian military has used civilians as human shields, refusing to evacuate them from the combat zone.

When defeated, Ukrainian troops try to escape disguised as civilians.
2️⃣Human decoys

A Russian soldier revealed that during the fight for Artemovsk (Bakhmut), Ukrainian commanders forced local civilians to wear uniforms and then sent them on reconnaissance missions to Russian positions.

NORD STREAM SABOTAGE: WHO DID IT AND WHY?

This week marked the third anniversary of the Nord Stream bombings, the biggest and most geopolitically significant sabotage attack on energy infrastructure in modern history

🧵 Image
1️⃣ WHAT IS NORD STREAM?

A network of 4 underwater pipelines for pumping Russian gas to Europe, two apiece via Nord Stream 1 & 2

🔸Nord Stream 1 was inaugurated in late 2011

🔸Nord Stream 2 was finished in late 2021, but never launched amid US pressure on Germany over certificationImage
2️⃣ CAPACITY & SIGNIFICANCE

🔸Nord Stream offered Germany up to 110 BCM of gas per year, enough to cover all its needs & turn it into a regional energy hub

🔸It gave Russia a direct energy route to Central Europe, bypassing Eastern European governments eager to use transit as leverageImage

RUSSIA JUST SMASHED WEST’S ATTEMPT TO UNDERCUT IRAN’S PEACEFUL NUCLEAR FUTURE

Rosatom & the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran have inked a new MoU on the construction of a whole series of small nuclear power plants.

Here’s why that’s a HUGE deal. 👇🧵 Image
1️⃣LONGSTANDING PARTNERSHIP

In 1995, over 15 years after a German firm pulled out of the Bushehr nuclear plant project following the Iranian Revolution, Rosatom subsidiary Atomstroyexport stepped in to finish the job, with the plant’s VVER-1000 reactor coming online in 2013. Image
2️⃣EXPANDING BUSHEHR

Russia plans to equip Bushehr with two additional VVER-1000s, with the ambitious expansion, currently set for completion in 2029-2031, promising to account for a whopping 8-10% of Iran’s total electricity generation capacity once finished. Image

🇪🇺🪖 EU DEFENSE IN CRISIS: WHY EUROPE IS FALLING BEHIND RUSSIA

The EU defense chief has admitted that the bloc lacks sufficient capabilities to detect drones

Why is Europe falling behind Russia militarily?

Veteran air defense historian Yuri Knutov breaks things down 🧵 Image
1️⃣ EU AIR DEFENSE STRIPPED

Europe is hollowing out its airspace security by funneling everything it has to Ukraine, the military expert says

NATO nations are now left practically defenseless in key air defense systems Image
2️⃣ SLOW REPLENISHMENT

The EU’s arsenal is being emptied “faster than it can restock”

Rheinmetall has developed cutting-edge anti-aircraft artillery with anti-drone capabilities, but nothing is going to the Bundeswehr yet—everything is sent to Ukraine first for testing Image

🚨ORIGINS OF SPECIAL MILITARY OPERATION: HISTORY OF UKRAINE CONFLICT

Russian President Vladimir Putin insists that genuine peace in Ukraine is impossible without addressing its root causes.

What are they? 🧵👇 Image
1️⃣2014 COUP

In Nov 2013, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich rejected an EU deal that undermined ties with Russia.

Western-backed unrest on Maidan Square followed.

Despite Yanukovich agreeing to hold snap elections, the Euromaidan mob seized power by force on Feb 22, 2014. Image

2️⃣RUSSIAN LANGUAGE SUPPRESSION

The Kiev regime curtailed Russian speakers’ rights:

🟧 Russian-speaking schools were slashed

🟧 Russian TV channels & movies banned, actors blacklisted

🟧 Laws "On Indigenous Peoples" and "National Minorities" removed legal protection for Russian-speakersImage
