Odd that scientists are required to dress appropriately to work with SARS-CoV-2, but you’re happy for your kids to play in it like it’s nothing 🤦🏼‍♀️

***Sent to friend and her mum as they don’t understand and I am suffering from their ignorance***

It appears you have succumbed to the sorry state of public health in our country. Most people have.

Here’s airborne pathogens 101 and why it’s important to us all.

1/
Pathogens float in the air like cigarette smoke and they stay there for hours. Usually 3-4 hours unless the room has ventilation or HEPA filters.

You can get infected by walking into an empty room.

You can get infected outdoors as well as indoors.

2/
[Friend’s mum] every time you open the door and talk to me, you are exhaling aerosols that carry whatever is in your system.

You don’t know what’s in your system and neither do I, hence my masking.

You are putting me in danger. Text messages aren’t dangerous.

It’s my COVIDversary today.

2 years ago I was informed I was a close contact of a close contact. I was in Canberra on a business mission.
My RAT was negative so I masked and got on the flight back to Perth. Made sure Dad was masked when he picked me up and we drove home with the windows open.

This AM two years ago I tested positive for the one COVID-19 infection that would destroy my life.
I was sick. Not sick enough to go to the hospital, but sick.

Friends dropped off Thai red duck curry. I later realised why I couldn’t stop eating spicy food. I’d lost my sense of taste and smell.

As today is the launch of @U2Fight_World, I thought it pertinent to post some stuff on plaguebook and see what happens:
PSA: you don’t need to read it, but I need to say it.

It upsets me to watch my friends getting repeat infections and some losing their Novid status.

I can only assume, while we are all adults, many have not kept up with current and emerging research about SARS-CoV-2.
It’s understandable, everyone is busy. I’m not busy anymore, so I spend what time I have learning about the virus and it’s ongoing effects on humanity.

A few quick points that you may like to consider:
