When we look around today at all of the strife and chaos, it is common for us to pray “Even so come LORD Jesus, come quickly.” I myself have prayed those words in recent weeks. This morning, it was this theme that the Lord placed on my heart as He woke me. There is great irony in
this prayer. The book of Revelation paints a picture of this irony.
In the very last chapter, the very last words have Jesus making this statement about coming. Starting in Revelation 22:7, Jesus says quite abruptly and clearly “Look, I am coming soon!” Then He closes out His
Holy Scripture talking about how blessed the people will be who are prepared (not caught by surprise) when He comes. He says that when He comes, many people will be set in their ways (for good or for evil) and will refuse to change (verse 11). But the Lord once again repeats
“Nevertheless, I am coming.” He says when He comes He is bringing His reward to repay everyone for what they have done. He says that those who have washed their clothes (in His blood) will be TRULY blessed on that day when they receive their reward.
Then, He makes this plea to
all, asking US to come. Come to Him and drink freely of the waters of the river of life. Come quickly before it’s too late. Then He ends the Holy Bible by saying one more time “I am coming soon!”
He is coming and at the same time He is beckoning us to come. This was the ironic
part about this theme for me as I awoke. Earlier in Revelation, the LORD goes into great detail about this very same theme (that He is coming quickly and imploring others to come to Him before it is too late). In the seven letters to the seven churches in Revelation 2 & 3, Jesus
is making this same statement to the church… a message to repent and come back to Him. A close study of those chapters shows that NONE of the churches were perfect and they all had problems (some very grave problems with stern warnings). But in every case the message was the
same… repent (come back to me) because I am coming soon.
12 “Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
14 Blessed are those who wash
their robes. They will be permitted to enter through the gates of the city and eat the fruit from the tree of life. 15 Outside the city are the dogs—the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idol worshipers, and all who love to live a lie.
16 “I, Jesus, have sent
my angel to give you this message for the churches. I am both the source of David and the heir to his throne. I am the bright morning star.”
17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires
drink freely from the water of life. - Revelation 22:12-17

The enemy was once a beautiful angel who was kicked out of heaven because he exalted himself. Furious as he was thrown down to this world, he came with one goal – to steal, kill and to destroy. He is very good at bringing separation and strife primarily between God and His people
(vertical relationship) and also between God’s people themselves (horizontal relationships). His only weapon in achieving his goal is through lies, deception and then accusation. We see the first example of this in Genesis 3 when he used this weapon to initiate sin and separation
When we read and study the bible, it can seem overwhelming with all of the diverse story lines and characters. The countless lessons and examples can appear to be an elaborate puzzle that is hard for the reader to decipher. But in reality, all of the books and stories, both Old-
and New-Testament, can be boiled down to one simple theme. It is a book about love and how it blesses everything (all of creation). From Genesis to Revelation the bible tells us to love God, giving to Him our everything (our lives, our time, our possessions and passions, desires,

Mob Mentality – Commonality and Danger
When the Lord woke me up this morning, He had this theme on my heart of mob mentality and the way of the world. After I thought about it for a bit, it occurred to me that this is a continuation of yesterday about our focus. Mob mentality is when we give over ourselves to be
motivated by the things that are going on around us. As humans with natural feelings and psychological needs, we all want to be accepted by others. We have a deep-seeded need to fit in and to conform. This is built into our DNA.
This week in my life I was reminded by the Lord of a valuable lesson about our focus and where we place it. It truly shapes our outlook on life and sets the tone of what we can do. As believers in Jesus, when we keep our eyes on Him and follow His lead, there are no limits to
what we can do no matter what situations come our way. Difficult situations, pain, suffering and worry are all tools that the enemy uses against us (and he is very good at it) to take our focus off of our LORD and what we know He has said. When (not if) this happens, any one of

Jehovah Jireh - The LORD Our Provider
The Lord promises to provide ALL of our needs and that all we have to do is just trust (believe in) Him. That sounds very simple but it is also very deep. He provides all of our needs in ways that we don’t even understand. He provides for needs that we didn’t even realize we
needed and He also provides them right on time (He knew we would need them even before we did). All we have to do is trust and truly believe and He takes care of the rest in a very deep way. Here is a famous example:
13 Then Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in

This is How We Fight Our Battles
In these days of unprecedented events (both good blessings and extreme conflicts and rebellion), there is a continuous strong temptation to lash out with words of correction or retaliation. I have struggled with that intently over this past weekend watching local, national and
global events and wanting to call out people by name making a case and an argument for their rebellion, hypocrisy, lies and manipulation. Any time spent watching the news media immediately fills anyone with these desires. I have found that it doesn’t really matter which news
