Putin’s top war bloggers — with millions of followers — are calling for war against another neighbor.
They say Azerbaijan is “the next Ukraine.”
And they want to strike before it joins NATO.
Do they speak for Putin?
Maybe. 🧵
2/ On July 20, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev told Ukraine:
“Never accept Russian occupation.”
He also blamed Russia for a December plane shootdown that killed 38 civilians — and vowed to sue Moscow in international court.
Russian war bloggers went ballistic.
3/ These aren’t fringe voices.
They’re Putin-aligned influencers with millions of followers, often used to float Kremlin policy.
Their demand:
“Only force will change Aliyev’s mind.”
“Conflict with Azerbaijan is inevitable.”
4/ Russia still hasn’t forgiven Baku for its 2023 blitz reclaiming Nagorno-Karabakh from its ally Armenia — while Russian troops were on the ground.
That war shattered Moscow’s credibility in the Caucasus.
Now, they want revenge.
5/ The tensions are boiling:
🇷🇺 Russian raids killed Azerbaijanis in June
🇦🇿 Baku retaliated by arresting Russia’s Sputnik staff
✈️ Russian defenses likely shot down a civilian plane
📢 Azerbaijan backed Ukraine’s war aims
Russia's media machine says: "Enough."
6/ Why does this matter?
Because Azerbaijan is backed by NATO-ally Turkey — and together they’re forming a Turkic alliance across Central Asia.
And now even Armenia is trying to get rid of Russia.
3/ China’s workforce peaked in 2012. GDP growth died with it.
Now:
• Real estate—70% of household wealth—has lost $18 trillion
• Youth unemployment is so high they’ve stopped reporting
• Cities are raiding businesses to pay bills
