Excited to introduce PayPal World 🌎, a first-of-its-kind global platform connecting the world’s largest payment systems and digital wallets. Our team has been working with partner wallets around the world to change the game for billions of consumers and merchants everywhere. Let's break it down:

Until now, there hasn’t been an interoperable global network that seamlessly connects families, friends, and merchants across borders. PayPal and Venmo, together with our initial launch partners, @mercadopago, UPI @NPCI_NPCI and WeChat Pay @TencentGlobal we will serve nearly 2 billion users -- and as an open ecosystem this will only grow from here.

Imagine a PayPal World where:

🔷Merchants can reach billions of potential new customers without incurring the cost or burden of accepting hundreds of regional wallets

Think about cross-border shopping online. If a UPI user in India wants to buy a pair of shoes from an online store in the USA, they click on the PayPal button at checkout. They'll simply see a UPI interface to know they can complete the transaction with an American business with confidence. Every PayPal button on every merchant site will now be a checkout option for billions of users around the world.

It's a similar story when a PayPal user goes on holiday in China. They want to grab a coffee in a cafe that accepts Weixin Pay. All they will need to do is open their @PayPal app and scan to pay. It's simple, safe and secure. No concern over what form of payment is accepted or which regional digital wallet to choose. And the cafe owner? They don't incur the high cost and hassle to support multiple wallets.

Or maybe it's just sending something special to your friend. A @Venmo user in the US can now send money to a friend in Germany for their birthday. They open the Venmo app, type in the phone number of their friend, and select their PayPal wallet. Money sent around the world instantly - in their native currency! (Yes, we created a global directory of users from participating wallets!)

This is just the start. As an open platform with safeguards on compliance, privacy, and security, we will continue to add more partners, wallets, capabilities, and ways to make PayPal World even bigger and more connected. A global commerce ecosystem creates tremendous opportunity for responsible and game changing innovation (Agentic Commerce, Stablecoins, etc.) and growth -- and consumers and merchants of all sizes win.
