📌 What is Indriya Nigraha?

Indriya = The senses
Nigraha = Restraint or mastery

It’s not suppression.. it’s mastery.

👉 In Vedic tradition, the senses are powerful tools, but if left uncontrolled, they bind us to desire and illusion (Māyā).

According to the Upanishads, we perceive the world through:

• Shrotra (hearing)
• Tvak (touch)
• Chakshu (sight)
• Jihvā (taste)
• Ghrāṇa (smell)

And the 5 Karmendriyas (organs of action): Speech, hands, feet, excretion, reproduction.

Bhagavad Gita 2.60 says:
"Even a wise man who strives for perfection is swept away by the turbulent senses."

Without control, even the sharpest intellect becomes a slave.

• Prapti Siddhi – Ability to reach anywhere at will
• Smriti Siddhi – Memory of past lives
