This usually trims the list down to 120β140 names.
My next filter is chart-based:
Is the stock buyable right now?
What do I mean by buyable?
I look for setups like:
β Long base breakouts
β Flags / Pennants
β Post-Earnings Drift (explained beautifully in Trade Like a Stock Market Wizard)
If the chart shows one of these, I move it to my Focused List.
This alone takes me down to <10β12 names.
Then comes something I call Trigger Hunting β optional for short-term traders, but critical for trend followers like me.
Hereβs what I do:
I check how many of these 10β12 names belong to the same industry group.
If I find 3β4 names from one sector, I know somethingβs brewing there.
That group goes to the top of my focus.
for example - Agrochemicals, Pharma & Healthcare, Auto Ancillaries, Specialty Chemicals, etc
To compare names within the group:
πΉ I visit their websites
πΉ Glance through recent investor presentations
πΉ Do a quick numbers scan on @screener_in
This gives me 4β6 high-priority, actionable setups for the next trading day.
Tight, focused, high-conviction list.
Having done this process daily for 2β3 years, it now only takes me a few hours.
But if you're new β take your time.
Over weeks, youβll develop a rhythm.
I explain these exact concepts on my platform chartitude.com
