Dr. Joel Warsh joined Jillian Michaels to talk about his new book on vaccines.
While writing the book, he dug into the claim that vaccines don’t cause autism—and was shocked by what he found.
“When we are in training, we are taught that it's settled that vaccines don’t cause autism.”
“So I thought there was so much robust research because you hear it over and over.”
“When I was going to write this book, I still thought there was lots of research that must be out there.”
“When you actually go look at the research, which you have to do for yourself, and you can't just trust what other people have said, it doesn't exist at all.”
“The only things that we have are on MMR and thimerosal.”
“We haven't studied any of the other vaccines against autism.”

“If you’re gonna say this has been debunked. You need really good research. You need prospective trials. You need vaccinated versus unvaccinated. You at least need some good epidemiological data retrospectively… we don't have any of that.”

“You could look at the vaccinated kids, look at the unvaccinated kids, and look at the partially vaccinated kids and see what are the rates of autism.”
