Kenya power's electricity cost is cost reflective.

Example 1:

A certain organisation installs poor electricity infrastructure in rural areas and then passes them to KPLC.

KPLC takes out loans to fix that infrastructure. Then that cost gets pushed to you.
We've asked so many times why that organisation exists. Because everything it does can be done by KPLC. And they do all that without 1% of KPLC's engineering capacities.

Every time we ask, it's radio silence. If you want to fix the electricity sector, collapse them back to KPLC.
So far, we've been hiving off organisations from KPLC shaghala baghala. The only organisation that should exist outside KPLC is KENGEN.

There - I said it. Those other geothermal guys should be collapsed into KENGEN because we all know they depend on KENGEN for everything.
Saa hii, mkiangalia loans za KPLC, you'll find a good chunk are funds they've taken out to fix messes created by the other energy organisations.

Anzeni na LMCP tu. Check sites done by KPLC vs sites done by anyone else. See the stark difference. And they're supposed to own both.
Electricity would be so much cheaper if we didn't split KPLC into so many different organisations with no capacity to do their work.

Kazi ya hao wengine being taking loans for politicians. Then loading those costs on KPLC, which then loads them onto the tariff.
Don't even get me started on the fact that the worst of our electricity costs aren't even down to the electricity tariff. Like have you seen the levies.

You start with 50 bob. When you're done adding the levies, your electricity is almost double...

Anyway, acha I end my rant.
The energy sector should comprise of:
1. MoE
2. KPLC (Treasury takes out loans for them to do unprofitable rural electrification)
3. KENGEN
4. EPRA (All of the energy section of KEBS should be moved to them)
5. Remove the grid from REREC and leave it purely off grid focused.

Current strategy: Can't use police without international blowback so they've resorted to his last strategy:

Unleash the militia.

Now let me tell you guys something about militia - there's only one way out once they're unleashed: Violence.
That's how 2007/8 slowed down. Retaliatory violence. He knows this - and he knows that that retaliatory violence got them to the negotiation table for nusu mkate.

That's the calculation right now. That if he unleashes the militia, you'll either cower and fear him...
Or you will fight back and violence will erupt. Either way, he wins. Either way, he stays in power. Either to clean up after the goons - stupid fools will all be murdered soon - or to reign over the ashes "to keep the peace"

The blueprint is 2007/8.

Pick the report and read it.

I forgot to remind you guys not to take Montelukast. I thought that start of the year warning was enough. Seems I have to do it every 6 months.

Leave that drug alone. Or have someone watch you when you take it. Find alternatives - I've found mast cell stabilizers to be helpful.
And check if the drug you're taking is a dopamine antagonist if you have ADHD. Your doctors will not check - some of them don't even think ADHD is a real thing.

Almost killed me in 2022 - I got heavily depressed for a few days before I realized I was on a dopamine antagonist.
Also check if your medication has lactose if you're lactose intolerant. It's used as a binder a lot.

If you're on endometriosis meds and are lactose intolerant - your bloating is partly from the lactose used as a binder.

No - doctors don't give a fuck. They won't check.

Who is this guys you people gave the presidency? Because I have an airport story too - Not KRA.

I'm talking boarding.

My colleague and others were gorced to pay a guy at the check-in 5000 each to board a flight to Uganda, around two weeks ago.
Here goes the story - her flight is at, let's say 6 in the evening. So she arrives at 4 - that's two hours early. As she arrives, she receives a text message saying that the flight is boarding.

She panics.

She gets through security and heads straight to the check-in point.
At the check-in, there's one guy. He looks at her and asks her why she's late. She says she isn't.

The flight is supposed to start boarding at 5:15. He asks if she's seen the message. She says yes, but that can't be right.

The argument continues. He says he can't check her in.

Someone should also mention how a good chunk of lines in a certain county mentioned in this list are illegal - because of some very senior politicians in this and the previous government. And KPLC can do nothing about it - because again politicians.
People steal from parastatals then get shocked that the theft has consequences.
Just Google "illegal connections" with each of those counties and you'll find the articles. It's not even a secret. It's in the open. And the poles for the illegal connections are supplied by people who are also known. All the rot in the electricity sector is publicly documented.

😂😂😂

IPPs are about to find out that distribution infrastructure is expensive - and likely the reason why KPLC is broke most of the time.

My advise to KPLC - focus on the broadband business. Household consumers peaneni to the first bidder. Plus the debts that come with them.
If you take household consumers from KPLC, you should take the LMCP debts too. Or those should be offloaded on the national government to pay alongside other loans - given that they were debt incurred due to national government policies. Then pay infrastructure costs 😂😂😂
My advise to household consumers - do not agree to be offloaded from KPLC. They are your best bet at cheap electricity. There's absolutely no country that has managed to fully liberalize the electricity sector in a way that reduces electricity costs usefully.

This guy is making laws that impact electrical engineering 😳 I've never seen someone this proud of their own ignorance so let me take a second and explain all these terms to you people, in laymans terms. If you're an engineer reading this, feel free to add your definition.
I'll explain everything with the thermal power plants as a reference point so you understand how important they are to the electrical system. Like I said - there's alternatives like battery energy storage systems but for now what we have is thermal plants so here we go.
Grid Stabilization:

Say you have a situation where LTWP goes offline, losing 15% of your grid hence destabilizing the grid. A standby thermal plant would help you supply that 15% within seconds as you're waiting for the less expensive alternatives like geothermal to come online.
