🚨 The Loeb Scale: A 0–10 System to Rank Interstellar Anomalies Has Just Been Proposed

Avi Loeb just co-authored a scientific scale to classify interstellar anomalies from comets to potential alien tech.

It’s called the Loeb Scale, and it might do for UAP-adjacent space objects what the Torino Scale did for asteroid threats.

Rate interstellar objects (ISOs).

Most will be natural, some might not be.

We need a standardized way to assess risk and potential intelligence.

Green Zone (Levels 0–3):
Natural objects like 2I/Borisov.

Yellow/Orange Zone (Levels 4–7):

Confirmed tech, potential threat.

Unexplained acceleration, extreme shape, no cometary tail

2I/Borisov = Level 0
Boring old comet, no anomalies

3I/ATLAS = Level 4
Retrograde orbit, no gases, fuzzy coma, planetary alignments

3I/ATLAS might be the real test case because it has:

Trajectory <5° off Earth’s ecliptic.
Close approaches to Venus, Mars & Jupiter.
No cometary gases.
Reddening spectral gradient.
Optimal position for a Solar Oberth maneuver.

And… it’s still inbound!

What makes the Loeb Scale different is that its the first official framework that openly accepts technosignatures as part of the classification process.

That alone is revolutionary.

It means astronomers have to consider artificial origin if certain criteria are met.
