🚨 CONGRESS JUST KILLED THE RULES THAT MADE CARS UGLY 🚗💥

For 50 years, D.C. fuel-economy mandates forced automakers into cookie-cutter designs—turning every SUV and crossover into the same boring blob.

Now, those rules are GONE.

It’s time to Make Cars Beautiful Again. 🧵👇 Image
2/ The culprit? Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards, born in 1975 after the oil embargo.

They didn’t just push fuel efficiency—they dictated design.

Every angle, height, and slope of your car was regulated in Washington. Image
3/ Here’s the trick Congress just pulled:

You can’t repeal CAFE in a budget bill.

So in July’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, Section 40006 quietly eliminated the civil penalty for breaking CAFE.

No penalty = no enforcement.

CAFE is dead.

rodmartin.org/p/victory-trum…
4/ To dodge CAFE rules, automakers built SUVs that legally counted as “off-highway” vehicles—whether they ever left the pavement or not.

That meant:

• 4WD or 6,000+ lbs weight
• Steep bumper angles
• Extra ground clearance

Design creativity? Dead. Image
5/ Passenger cars got the same treatment.

Pedestrian-safety rules dictated hood slope, bumper height, and crumple zones.

End result? A sea of nearly identical sedans. Image
6/ Are these rules still needed? Nope.

Today’s cars come with:

• Backup cameras (mandatory since 2018)
• Lane-departure & blind-spot warnings
• Automatic emergency braking (mandatory by 2029)

Tech saves lives—ugly design doesn’t. Image
7/ Example: Since 2013, Volvo’s “Pedestrian & Cyclist Detection” brakes have automatically stopped for people who dart out.

Now, even my Nest doorbell recognizes humans.

If AI can do that, your car can too—without forcing it to look like a bloated soap bar. Image
8/ With CAFE dead, energy prices + consumer choice will drive fuel efficiency, not bureaucrats.

Free markets = better design.

It’s time to ditch 50-year-old rules, free the auto industry, and un-frunk our cars. Image
Image
9/ Tail fins? Maybe not.

But bold, unique, beautiful cars? Absolutely.

CAFE is gone. The market is free. Now let the designers go wild.

It’s time to Make Cars Beautiful Again. 🚗🇺🇸 Image

🚨 Ilhan Omar’s father served in a communist-Islamist regime accused of genocide

50,000+ civilians murdered.
Cities leveled.
Villages wiped out.

She’s never answered for it. She lived in luxury under it.

And now she’s a Socialist member of our Congress. 🧵 Image
2/ Omar calls her father “an educator.”

In reality? Colonel Nur Mohamed Omar served under Somali dictator Siad Barre, whose regime the UN ranked among the worst human rights abusers in Africa. Image
3/ Barre fused Marxist-Leninism with Islamism, ruled for 20 years, and unleashed his Somali Revolutionary Socialist Party on rival clans — especially the Isaaq.

Slogan: “Social Justice.” Of course.
Reality: mass killings, mass graves. Of course. Image

🚨 TRUMP TO HOST FIRST SUMMIT WITH SOUTH KOREA’S NEW PRESIDENT 🚨

Aug. 25, Washington D.C. — Trump & Lee Jae Myung meet for the first time.

Agenda: Trade. Defense. Energy. Tech. North Korea.

The two countries just cut a huge trade deal. Now it gets serious.

THREAD🧵 Image
2/ This isn’t just a courtesy call.

Lee took office in June after a snap election. He’s coming to Washington to lock in a future-oriented, comprehensive strategic alliance with Trump — in both economics and security. Image
3/ On the table:

• Critical minerals & semiconductor supply chains
• Shipbuilding & battery production, maybe even for the U.S. Navy
• $100B in U.S. energy sales to Korea
• Strengthening the U.S.–Korea combined deterrence against North Korea & China Image

🚨 BREAKING: Appeals Court Removes Block on DOGE Data Access

DOGE is part of the White House. The Constitution gives all executive power to the President. He has 100% right to see ALL government data.

So why did a Democrat judge block Trump from doing just that?

THREAD🧵Image
2/ Trump created DOGE to modernize federal software, slash waste, and force agencies to work like the private sector.

It's rooted out $200 BILLION in waste and fraud so far.

So of course, the bureaucrats & unions sued to keep DOGE from finding their secrets (with YOUR $$$). Image
3/ One Democrat judge (Deborah Boardman) sided with them — blocking DOGE from accessing records at:

• Dept. of Education
• Treasury
• Office of Personnel Management

The effect? Stop the audits before they find anything, and hide things as fast as possible. Image

🚨 TRUMP EXEMPTS GOLD FROM TARIFFS

Last week, confusion over tariffs sent gold prices to a record $3,534.

Traders feared gold tariffs would slam the bullion market.

But today, Trump ended the panic with 4 words:
“Gold will not be Tariffed!”

🧵👇
2/ The scare started when a U.S. Customs ruling suggested imported gold bars could face country-specific tariffs — up to 39% for Switzerland, the world’s refining hub.

That would have wrecked global gold supply chains overnight. Image
3/ The result?

📈 Gold futures hit $3,534.10, a record.
📈 Spot gold jumped above $3,390.
📈 The premium between U.S. futures & global prices exploded to $100+.

Markets feared the U.S. might break the gold trade. Image

🚨 HISTORIC SHIFT IN SYRIA:

President Trump just did what 3 presidents promised but never delivered—he ended most U.S. sanctions on Syria.

Now America is sitting down with Syria to plan reconstruction—and the geopolitics AND geoeconomics are huge. 🧵 Image
2/ Tomorrow, U.S., Jordanian, and Syrian officials will meet in Amman to discuss rebuilding Syria—a war-torn nation devastated by civil war since 2011.

The goals: security, stability, sovereignty, and prosperity.

As Trump put it, "commerce not chaos".

rodmartin.org/p/commerce-not…
3/ Syria’s new leaders—installed after the ouster of Bashar al-Assad in Dec. 2024—has already struck $14B in deals with global companies:

• $4B new Damascus airport
• $2B public transit overhaul
• $60M new shopping mall

And that’s just the start. But Syria needs EVERYTHING. Image

🚨 THE SMALL TOWNS PAYING PEOPLE THOUSANDS TO MOVE IN 🚨

Across America, rural communities are paying people thousands to move in.

Cash. Concert tickets. Golf memberships.

A pandemic experiment is now a national movement — and it’s working. 🧵👇 Image
2/ It started during COVID: millions went remote.

10% of America’s workforce still works from anywhere.

Heartland towns saw their chance to reverse decades of brain drain — and they’re winning back families one $5,000 check at a time. Image
3/ Example: Noblesville, IN.

Pays $5,000 + coworking space + golf + concert tickets.

Result: 102 remote workers moved since 2022, bringing 253 new residents.

Average salary: $80K.
Projected 5-year impact: $37.6M.

Retention rate: 90%. Image
