โDonald Trump's Personality, in 15 Traits
The current president of the United States, psychologically dissected.
๐งต๐
The world is surprised that Donald Trump is the new president of the United States, but the truth is that the people voted for him, in part, because of the personality traits expressed in his rallies.
It's clear that numerous factors have played a role here; even so, it's still curious what kind of emotions this figure evokes among the population.
The world is in shock, and few understand the election results outside the borders of what is considered the land of opportunity.
1. Trump's Narcissistic Side.
Donald Trump displays very marked narcissistic traits. What characterizes narcissistic people is that they need to be admired and have power.
2. Trumpian Megalomania.
Narcissism is closely related to another aspect of Trump's personality: his megalomania, the belief that one has great influence over what happens around them and that one has the power and right to change the lives of others as one wishes.
3. Tendency to Manipulate.
Trump is where he is because he is a great manipulator. The American tycoon has garnered many votes thanks to his vague discourse based on poorly defined ideas, ideal for making their meaning change over time according to an opportunistic logic.
4. He's racist.
What truly stupefies public opinion is that Donald Trump is president after having made racist statements. One of his proposals is to build a wall separating Mexico from the United States, which reveals his segregationist and exclusionary way of thinking. Mass deportations, illegal prisons...
5. He's authoritarian.
He demonstrated this during Zelensky's visit to the White House.
6. He's arrogant and overbearing.
Trump believes himself superior to others and treats people as if they were inferior. On numerous occasions, he has treated people with contempt, not because of their ideas, but because of their "innate nature."
7. He's a misogynist.
He is a despotic, cold, and calculating man. He has very little consideration for people he believes to be inferior." Although the accusations made by several women against Trump are not supported by evidence, we have seen how the tycoon has been "caught" making sexist comments.
8. He belittles others.
This is another characteristic trait of narcissistic people: their ease in pigeonholing others into submissive roles.
9. He needs to be admired.
In Trump's case, this is revealed in several of his public appearances, in which he seeks to capture the spotlight with expansive and even out-of-place nonverbal language, and even in tweets in which he gushes about his achievements.
10. He lacks empathy.
Empathic people know how to put themselves in other people's shoes and understand their emotions and needs. You only have to listen to Trump's speech for 10 minutes to realize that he is not exactly an empathetic person.
11. He is extroverted.
Trump is clearly an extrovert; he enjoys being surrounded by people. He likes to express himself at public events. According to psychologist Dan P. McAdams, Trump has two very marked personality traits.
12. He has a thirst for power.
Trump, as already mentioned, has a thirst for greatness. But not only that, he also has a thirst for power. Being president of the United States practically means having the world under your control.
13. He is intolerant.
Intolerant people are full of prejudices, they discriminate, they don't listen, they are authoritarian, etc. All of these characteristics are exhibited by Donald Trump, who has already stated, on many occasions, what he plans to do with a large part of immigrants.
14. He is aggressive.
Trump is an aggressive person and has been seen attacking many people on occasion. In fact, intolerant people see other people as threats. They don't accept criticism, and when they receive it, they tend to act hostilely.
15. He is a fanatic.
Trump is a fanatic about his ideas, which is why he defends them with exaggerated passion and sometimes excessive. This fanaticism is a breeding ground for conflict between groups, but also between individuals, who can experience a contagion effect from Trump's essentialism.
I tried to find fifteen virtues of Donald Trump but I didn't find any.
