SC constituted SIT finds that corruption by NOIDA officials and their builder friendliness has led to payment of excessive compensation to farmers. SC orders SIT inquiry against officials and told UP govt to decide converting NOIDA into a Metropolitan Council.
SIT informed Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi that to assess collusion between farmers and officials, a forensic examination of assets acquired by officials and their family members for last decade needs to be examined. SC constituted fresh SIT to investigate this aspect.
A bench said new SIT, comprising three IPS officers, should include officers from forensic accounts department as well as economic offences wing. SC asked the chief secretary to place earlier SIT report before Council of Ministers for brining in change in NOIDA as recommended.
SC directed chief secretary to immediately post a Chief Vigilance Officer, preferably from IPS cadre or an officer from CAG, in NOIDA to ostensiby check corruption. It also said Citizens Advisory Boad be constituted immediately to appraise NOIDA about views of residents.

Ousted from power, MVA moves SC seeming suspension of 39 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs till the deputy Speaker decides the disqualification petitions filed against them.
MVA also pleads with SC that since the disqualification proceedings are pending, none of the 39 Sena rebel MLAs be allowed to participate in the Assembly proceedings. This new application will be mentioned today at 10.30 for urgent hearing.
Sena chief whip Sunil Prabhu in his petition termed Governor's decision to call for floor test as illegal as he didn't take into account deputy Speaker's disqualification notices to 16 of 39 rebel MLAs. He said none of 39 MLAs wrote to Governor withdrawing support to MVA govt.
Prabhu said the floor test decision has been taken "on the 'aid and advice of the leader of opposition', which is not contemplated under Constitution." He said Governor has called for floor test after meeting Devendra Fadnavis and without seeking CM Uddhav Tackeray's response.

Maharashtra governor calls for floor test in Assembly for MVA government at 11 am on June 30.
The Governor’s letter to CM Uddhav Thackeray says the special session would commence at 11 am and all speeches by leaders of parties would be completed by 5 pm when the Trust Motion will be put to vote.
The Governor says the trust vote proceedings will be telecast live and video-recorded and he ordered that the proceedings will not be adjourned on any ground.
