Crossed $1M in Net worth today ($SPY is also hit an all-time high).
Started tracking my net worth at $157K on December 18th, 2020 (1,699 days ago).
Things that helped:
- a lot of luck,
- starting at $89 (in Aug, 2018) instead of negative NW,
- having a good high-paying job,
- having a good education,
- Not selling the winners (about to cross 5 years of holding $BRK, $BTC, $META by EOY),
- living wayyyy below my means,
- (not comparing my life with friend's lives)
- good values imparted by my mom,
- being as frugal as possible,
- standing on the shoulders of giants like Mr. Buffett, Mr. Munger, Mr. Pabrai etc.
- not taking on any kind of debt,
- no spouse/kids,
- etc. (I am 100% missing some things)
My account balance in Aug 2018 was $83 and today it is $1,009,060. A CAGR of 11.74% for 84 months.
In @dollarsanddata's wealth ladder book, the percentage of households that go up 2 levels in 10 years is 3%. I was able to go up 3 levels in under 7 years by following the above.
Feeling extremely grateful and lucky. On to the next (and probably the hardest) level jump. 🫡
