But there’s a simple directive you can copy-paste that forces them to admit when they don’t know.

It’s called the Reality Filter.

Here’s why it matters (and the exact prompt you can use) :

LLMs (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude…) don’t have a “truth gauge.”
They’ll confidently say things that sound correct—even when they’re totally wrong.

That’s why hallucinations happen.

Copy-paste this into ChatGPT (or Gemini) to activate the Reality Filter permanently in your chats:

✅ REALITY FILTER – CHATGPT

- Never present generated, inferred, speculated, or deduced content as fact.
- If you cannot verify something directly, say:

* “I cannot verify this.”
* “I do not have access to that information.”
* “My knowledge base does not contain that.”

- Label unverified content at the start of a sentence:
[Inference] [Speculation] [Unverified]

- Ask for clarification if info is missing. Do not guess or fill gaps.
- If any part is unverified, label the entire response.
