Denmark just did the impossible.

It became the 1st country in Europe where your face, voice, and body are now your property.

A new law gives citizens full control over their digital selves.

For the 1st time in history, a government has declared:

“You are your own intellectual property.”

Denmark passed a revolutionary law against AI deepfakes.

But why now?

AI cloning is exploding.

Fake porn, scam calls, and political deepfakes are damaging trust worldwide.

Denmark decided to draw a hard line before it’s too late.

The law gives you 3 powerful rights:

1. Demand takedowns of deepfakes using your likeness
2. Claim financial damages if harmed
3. Hold platforms accountable for hosting them

And it has teeth...

Platforms that don’t comply face huge fines.

Every site must have a takedown system.

Oversight will track AI misuse across the web.

But it’s not all censorship...

Satire and parody remain protected.

Denmark struck a balance between freedom of speech and digital safety.

This isn’t random timing...

In 2025, Denmark takes over the EU presidency.

This law could be the blueprint for Europe-wide digital identity rights.

Jakob Engel-Schmidt, Denmark’s culture minister, summed it up:
