This was Winston Churchill's darkest WWII secret.

Inside this hidden bunker, 6 men were buried alive to spy on Hitler's troops.

Exiled from the world with only 7 years of supplies

Their story was classified for decades...

Welcome to Operation Tracer: 🧵 Image
By 1940, Europe was in chaos:

- France had fallen.
- Italy joined Hitler.
- Britain stood alone.

Gibraltar, the gateway to the Mediterranean, was the lifeline.

Lose it, and Allied supply routes would collapse. Image
Image
The Rock became one of the most valuable pieces of land in the world.

Churchill knew the Axis wanted it.

If they took it, Britain’s naval presence in the region would be crippled.
2. Churchill’s Impossible Order

The idea was simple in words, brutal in reality:

Hollow out a chamber inside Gibraltar’s limestone.
Seal six men inside.

Let them watch the war from a tomb they could never leave.

Alive or dead, they would remain hidden. Image
Image
3. A Tomb Disguised as a Fortress

Code name: Operation Tracer.

• A 10,000-gallon water tank.
• 2 narrow slits to spy on the sea.
• Shelves stacked with tinned food for a year.
• A radio powered by a bicycle generator.

The chamber was only bigger than a railway carriage. Image

Everything was engineered for survival under siege — or death in silence.

The men could breathe, drink, and send coded signals to London… but never leave.

If Gibraltar fell, they’d keep watching from their stone coffin until the last supply was gone.
4. The Secret Location

Hidden beneath Lord Airey’s Battery, high above the sea.

Workers thought they were expanding tunnels.

In truth, they were creating one of the most secret rooms of WWII. Image
5. The View from Inside

One slit faced east over the Mediterranean.

The other looked west toward Gibraltar’s harbor and the Strait — perfect to watch every ship entering or leaving the region. Image
Image
6. Life Inside the Rock

• Cork tiles for insulation
• Total noise & light concealment
• Hand-crank & bike-powered ventilation

No sunlight. No fresh air. Just stone walls, stale air, and silence. Image
7. The Rules of Death

Once sealed, the entrance would be bricked shut from inside.

If someone died:

• Body bricked into wall cavity
• Survivors carry on the mission — meters from their comrade’s grave
The six-man team was handpicked:

One officer.
Two doctors.
Three signalmen.

They trained in secrecy, prepared for no rescue and no return.

To prepare, planners consulted Antarctic explorer George Murray Levick.

His advice?
• Strict routines.
• Mental conditioning.
• The operation’s secrecy was legendary.
• Guidelines for burial if a team member died.

By 1942, Operation Tracer was ready. Image
10. Waiting for the Call

By 1942, the bunker was stocked.

The men waited for the signal to seal themselves in.

But the call never came... Image
Hitler’s plans to take Gibraltar (Operation Felix) stalled.

• Spain refused to cooperate.
• Hitler shifted focus to the Soviet Union.
• By 1943, the threat to Gibraltar had diminished.

The six volunteers were stood down, and the bunker was sealed. Image
11. The Legend in the Rock

For decades, whispers of a “stay-behind cave” echoed in Gibraltar.

Its location was lost in the Rock’s 30+ miles of tunnels.
12. The 1997 Rediscovery

Cavers exploring noticed a draft behind a corrugated wall.

They pulled it back to find bricks — and beyond them:

• Rotten cork flooring
• Rusted bike generator
• Slits still staring over the sea Image
Image
13. Water Still Flowed

The 10,000-gallon tank was still connected to its source.

Clear water ran from the tap after 50 years.

Loose bricks near the entrance waited to seal the men in forever. Image
14. The Survivor Speaks

At 92, Dr. Bruce Cooper confirmed the mission’s grim reality.

But his memories didn’t match the bunker — no ledge by the slits, no nearby tunnels. Image
15. The Mystery Remains

Historians suspect other Tracer-like bunkers were planned for:

• Malta
• Alexandria
• Aden

Perhaps even another, still hidden inside Gibraltar. Image

Churchill famously said:

“Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terror. Victory, however long and hard the road may be.”

Operation Tracer embodied that ethos — a mission so extreme it asked men to vanish from the living world to secure it.
That's a wrap!

You can't think your way out of anxiety, depression, stress, or overthinking...

They are not in your head, but also not in your genes...

Pills numb the alarm while the fire burns.

Here's a guide to detox the organ that is destroying your mental health: 🧵 Image
Image
Let's envision someone named Tina.

CEO of a tech startup.
Crushing it professionally.

Heart pounding over emails.
But waking up at 3 AM with ruminations.
Convinced she was "just an anxious person."

Familiar? Image

Your brain is actually 3 brains stacked on top of each other:

• Neocortex (Human brain) - Logic, language, planning

• Limbic (Mammal brain) - Emotions, memory, bonding

• Reptilian (Survival brain) - Fight, flight, freeze

Guess which one controls your anxiety? Image

In the 1900s, the UK controlled the world

• London was THE financial capital
• Controlled 1 in 4 people on Earth
• The pound was like gold

Today?

• Currency is dying
• Billionaires are leaving
• GDP growth is negative

The warnings were obvious & everywhere 🧵 Image
1. The empire that built the modern economy

In 1870, Britain made up 9% of global GDP.
By 1950, it was still 6%.

Today? Just 3.2%.

150 years of decline—masked by finance and the City of London boom.

Let me explain: Image
Image
2. London eats while the rest starves

London generates 23% of the UK’s GDP with just 13% of its population.

Median income in the capital is £45k—versus £31k in the rest of the country.

Outside London, productivity growth has flatlined since 2008. Image

This is Malaysia:

– 0% capital gains tax & 0% inheritance tax:
– Cheaper than Singapore, just one bridge away
– Birthplace of Grab & controls 25% og global trade

Once just a backwater, today, it’s Asia’s most strategic economic hub.

Their transformation story was wild 🧵 Image
Malaysia isn’t trying to out-China China.

Instead, it’s mastered the long game with 5 quiet advantages:

1. Strategic geography
2. Strong infrastructure
3. Low cost of living
4. Global trust
5. Policy consistency

And it’s paying off.

In the 1970s, Malaysia had a choice:
Copy the Asian Tigers… or fall behind.

So they studied:
• Singapore
• South Korea
• Taiwan
• Hong Kong

Then built:
• Export zones in Penang
• Japanese-backed manufacturing hubs
• Education tied to industry

Einstein is one of the smartest and most famous people ever alive.

He once said:

“Two things are infinite:
The universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe.”

Here are his 7 habits for thinking like a genius—you can try today: 🧵 Image
Image
Einstein's brain was studied for decades after death.

The only difference? His parietal lobe was 15% wider.

But millions have similar brain variations.

What made Einstein special was HOW he used his brain, not WHAT brain he had.

Let me explain...
Picture this:

1905. A 26-year-old patent clerk sits at his desk in Bern, Switzerland.

He's been rejected from every academic position. Failed his university entrance exam. Even his doctoral thesis was rejected.

Yet in 6 months, he'll publish 4 papers that change physics forever.

How?Image

In 1989, Japan ruled the world

• GDP per capita beat America's
• 8 of the 10 biggest companies were Japanese
• Tokyo real estate was worth more than all of California

Today?

• Growth is flat
• Wages are stuck
• Population shrinking

The signs were obvious & everywhere🧵 Image
1. America rebuilt Japan — then regretted it

After WWII, Japan was in ruins.

The US feared communism, so they pumped in aid, broke up monopolies, and rebuilt Japan into an export machine.

From 1953 to 1970, Japan’s exports grew 380%.

It was the greatest comeback story ever. Image
2. Japan became the world’s factory

Cars, TVs, radios, semiconductors—if Japan made it, the world bought it.

By 1980s, 8 of the top 10 global firms were Japanese.

Tokyo became the center of global finance. Japan’s GDP per capita was higher than America’s. Image

On his deathbed, surrounded by government agents, prodigy John von Neumann (190+ IQ) made one final confession...

His worst fear wasn't WWIII, nuclear wars, nor zombie apocalypses...

It's something 4 in 10 Americans can't suffer from today.

His last words left me thinking🧵 Image
John von Neumann was a true genius.

• Could divide 8-digit numbers in seconds
• Spoke 6 languages by age 6
• Remembered every word he ever read

But his final words would shock everyone.

And still haunt us today... Image
Born in 1903 in Budapest, Hungary.

Little Johnny was different from birth.

By age 8, he mastered calculus.
At 19, he published two major papers.

His IQ? Estimated above 190.

Einstein called him "the greatest mind alive." Image
