🚨 NO MORE ORWELLIAN NAMES: Trump Restores the Department of War
“It used to be called the Department of War. And we won everything.”
Trump just proposed re-renaming the ‘Department of Defense’—and going back to warfighters, not bureaucrats.
Here’s why it matters 🧵👇
2/ Trump told @SecDef Pete Hegseth:
“What are we, defense? Why are we defense? I don’t want to be defense only. We want offense too.”
Then he gave the order: “We’re going back to the Department of War.”
And Hegseth replied: “That’s coming soon, sir.”
@SecDef 3/ "Defense Department" has always sounded too much like the "Ministry of Peace" and the "Ministry of Love" in Orwell's 1984.
It’s time for honesty. It's a small thing, yes. But a lot of small things add up.
And anyway: it was the Department of War for 158 YEARS!
@SecDef 4/ But it's also about the mission. How many wars have we won since it became the Department of Defense?
Trump:
“As the Department of War, we won World War I. We won World War II. We won everything. Now we have the Department of Defense… I don’t know.”
He knows exactly.
@SecDef 5/ The “Department of War” was founded in 1789.
It won our wars for 158 years.
Then Democrats renamed it in 1947.
That's the year we established the Military-Industrial Complex.
It's also when we started losing.
Trump wants that era over.
@SecDef 6/ Hegseth wrote in 2024: “We have warriors, not ‘defenders.’ Bringing back the War Department may remind a few people in Washington what the military is supposed to do.”
Honesty brings clarity. It might even keep us out of some of the adventurism Neocons and Democrat prefer.
@SecDef 7/ America doesn’t need a bureaucratic, retreating Pentagon.
We need a warfighting machine that:
✅ Deters evil
✅ Crushes enemies
✅ Wins wars
Trump has ended six wars in six months. He understands power.
He also understands the value of plain-spokenness.
@SecDef 8/ This isn’t about “militarism.” It’s about mission clarity.
No more Orwellian names.
No more soft bureaucratic language.
It’s time to say what we mean:
America will defend peace—by winning wars.
Not just fighting, dying and withdrawing.

@elonmusk’s xAI and @X just filed suit against Apple and OpenAI—alleging they’ve colluded to snuff out competition in AI.
This isn't just an online spat. This may be a giant antitrust case that could reshape the industry.
Thread ↓🧵
@elonmusk @X 2/ The lawsuit accuses Apple & OpenAI of locking down AI on iPhones by integrating ChatGPT directly into iOS and Siri—shutting out challengers like xAI’s Grok.
Musk: “They’ve locked up markets and blocked innovators like us.”
The SAME Never Trumpers who cheered when the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago are now SHRIEKING about “authoritarianism” because agents searched the vile John Bolton’s house and office.
Let’s take a look at their meltdown 👇🧵
2/ Olivia Troye in 2022:
👉 Praised the FBI for raiding Trump.
Olivia Troye in 2025:
👉 “This is authoritarianism!” because John Bolton got searched.
So it’s not “authoritarian” if it’s Trump’s house. Only if it’s their buddy’s.
3/ Chuck Todd lectured Republicans to “trust the FBI” and stay “calm” after the Mar-a-Lago raid.
Now? He’s raging that the Bureau is “Trump’s revenge squad.”
The only difference? The target isn’t Trump this time.
