The media claims Israel’s planned “E1 settlement” ends Palestine.

So I went there.

It’s just barren desert on Jerusalem’s edge.

E1 isn’t “Palestinian land.”

It is undeveloped state land in Area C.

If Israel were to build here no one would be displaced or negatively affected.

That didn't stop the Young Turks @AnaKasparian claiming that E1 will destroy any future Palestinian State, as it cuts the West Bank in two.

In reality, E1 is a tiny pimple on the edge of Jerusalem.

Channel 4 claims E1 would cut Ramallah off from Bethlehem.

Someone should tell teach them geography… Ramallah is north of Jerusalem. Bethlehem is south.

How can this tiny patch of land east of Jerusalem cut them off?

So why does Israel want to build here?

It’s not about “ending Palestine.” It’s about protecting Jerusalem.

The city of Ma’ale Adumim acts as a buffer against attacks from the east.

E1 ensures that Ma'ale Adumim remains connected to Jerusalem.

In every round of negotiations, Palestinians agreed Ma’ale Adumim remains in Israel.

So unless they're expecting Ma'ale Adumim to be an island, E1 is a necessary extension.

And while the world screams about “illegal Israeli building,” guess who’s been constructing like crazy in the area?

E1 cannot and would not kill the two-state solution.
