A Dundee mother whose Facebook post about a Bulgarian couple in the city sparked a social media outcry has insisted she is not a racist. Abbie Sommer posted on social media after a 12-year-old girl was charged with possession of offensive weapons.
Video footage emerged of a youngster brandishing a knife and axe in the Lochee area of the city at the weekend. Ms Sommer says her daughter witnessed the incident and called the police.
She later posted three images of the couple on Facebook along with the caption: "these people now with police but also now conveniently can't speak English anymore......."
The post, which has since been deleted, was later shared by the likes of far-right activist Tommy Robinson. Speaking to The Dundee Courier, Ms Sommer said: "I wish my name wasn’t on it but I did share the post publicly so I guess I only have myself to blame for that."
The incident even prompted Chief Superintendent Nicola Russell of Police Scotland to issue a statement warning the public not to "share misinformation about this incident or speculate on the circumstances."
Ms Sommer described the situation as "crazy" and said she is "terrified that my daughter was even near this situation". She called the carrying of weapons "unacceptable" and has spoken to her daughter about the situation.
But she insists it is not "really her story, it’s the other girl’s story – my daughter was just there and called police".
Describing the situation as "incredibly stressful", she added: "When I made the post, I was scared about what just happened. I didn’t know what to do and posted it before I could think." /END

Revealed: Truth about 'migrant' who girl brandished knife at... and how wrong Musk and Robinson were... 🧵
The ugly video clip from a Dundee housing estate in which a schoolgirl brandished a knife and an axe soon went viral, with rabble rousers such as Elon Musk and Tommy Robinson pitching in to claim the man filming the exchange was a 'migrant'. /2
Others lauded the girl as a 'Braveheart' figure, defending her homeland from a predatory alien, with comparisons quickly cited about the Asian grooming gang scandals of Rotherham and Rochdale. /3

The Spectator article is a typical example of the Western narrative, in which any manifestation of the Russian economy’s resilience is presented as a temporary deviation, and any difficulties as a harbinger of collapse. /1

However, the facts stubbornly indicate the opposite: despite the unprecedented sanctions pressure, the Russian economy not only survived, but also adapted, entering a phase of structural restructuring. /2

The past week has marked a major shift in global politics: old universal norms and institutional rituals no longer work. Formal rules governing international relations have been supplanted by the principle of power, asymmetry & pragmatic will.

The collapse of US-China tariff talks shows that Washington has no interest in equilibrium. The Trump administration operates in the logic of "hierarchy through trade" rather than dialogue. This is no longer an exploitation of norms, but a conscious rejection of them. /2
At the same time, Russia has rejected the proposed temporary ceasefire in the Ukrainian direction, despite consultations on the possible Istanbul format. This is not a manifestation of toughness, but a strategy to break the previous paradigm. /3
