The New York Times carefully curating their reporting of this event to avoid the use of pronouns is as indicative of a genuine response to tragedy as brushing your teeth before fleeing a house fire. 2/7
This kind of “journalism” prioritizes ideology and devotion to feeding the algorithm by inflaming partisan warfare instead of a commitment to simple journalism. 3/7
The treatment turns the conversation away from the fact that children continue to be regularly murdered by reoccurring, mentally-ill, nihilistic American killers and instead frames everything as an ideological arena. 4/7
American media and politics is largely ideologically dictated and algorithmically devoted now. Which paralyzes the participating politicians and media from focused and productive responses. 5/7
Each political camp will prioritize protecting their overarching ideological dispositions. The media will focus on curating articles that invoke emotional responses. Neither group will seek to curate a productive consensus that will seek to address the cause of the tragedy. 6/7
Instead conservative interests will thwart Cracker Barrel and progressive interests will host No Kings protest events. And our culture will continue to churn out killers while we all happily gobble partisan garbage and blame one another for churning out killers. 7/7
