He climbed mountains, cared for the poor, and radiated joy.

They called him the Man of the Beatitudes.

Today, Pier Giorgio Frassati is declared a Saint 🧵: Image
Image
Born in Turin in 1901 to a wealthy family, Pier Giorgio chose humility over privilege.

Daily Mass, the Rosary, and Adoration shaped every part of his life. Image
Charity was his hallmark.

He gave away his bus money to the poor, ran home instead, and quietly supported struggling families—

often signing his notes simply “Friend.” Image

Many reject the Eucharist: “It’s only a symbol. It can’t be literal. It’s absurd.”

But 2,000 years ago, Jesus prophesied that exact unbelief—
and watched it unfold before His eyes.

The prophecy of John 6 still echoes today, 🧵: Image
After multiplying bread for the crowd, Jesus raised the stakes:

“I am the living bread… the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.”
(John 6:51)

He wasn’t speaking in riddles. He meant His very Flesh. Image
The listeners balked:
“How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
(John 6:52)

Jesus could have softened His words.
Instead:

“Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.”

Bernadette’s companions saw nothing. But she returned.

The Lady appeared to her 18 times between February and July.

On March 25, the Lady finally spoke: “I am the Immaculate Conception.”

In 1730, thieves broke into a church in Siena, Italy, and stole hundreds of Hosts.

What followed defied time, science, and decay.

The Eucharistic Miracle of Siena 🧵: Image

On August 14, 1730, as the city celebrated the Feast of the Assumption, thieves forced open the tabernacle of the Basilica of St. Francis.

They took a ciborium containing 351 consecrated Hosts.

(Fr. Ventura, The Eucharistic Miracles, 1991, p. 123). Image
Three days later, the Hosts were discovered stuffed into the poor box at St. Mary of Provenzano. They were filthy but intact.

They were counted: 351. All recovered.

The Franco-Prussian War had devastated France. By January 1871, Paris was under siege.

The Prussian army pushed deeper into western France, nearing the small village of Pontmain. Panic set in.

On the evening of January 17, two brothers, Eugène (12) and Joseph Barbedette (10), noticed a Lady above their family’s barn.

She wore a dark blue robe studded with golden stars, a black veil, and a crown of light. She smiled but said nothing.

The miraculous story of Our Lady of Laus: Image
Her name was Benoîte Rencurel, a 17-year-old orphan tending sheep near the village of Laus.
