🧵Jambudweep: The Lost Map of Bharatvarsh from Vishnu Puran
Before Google Maps, our Rishis mapped the world. They called it Jambudweep - the grand island of humanity.
Let's decode this sacred geography of Bharat.👇Thread 🧵
1️⃣
📜 What is Jambudweep?
In Puranic cosmology, Earth’s central continent is Jambudweep.
It’s divided into 9 regions - with Bharatvarsh at the heart.
2️⃣
🇮🇳 Bharatvarsh: Land of Dharma
Jambudweep’s most sacred land is Bharatvarsh. It’s here that avatars, rishis & dharma descended. Here, every river, mountain, and forest holds divine stories.
3️⃣
🗺️ Ancient Map vs Modern Map
This map shows Bharatvarsh stretching from present-day Iran to Indonesia, Siberia to Sri Lanka. Borders were not political - they were spiritual & cultural.
4️⃣
🏔️ Mount Meru: The Cosmic Axis
At the center of Jambudweep rises Mount Meru, the axis of the universe.
From here, rivers flow in all directions - symbolizing life, karma & cosmic balance.
5️⃣
🌊 Seven Oceans & Dweeps
Around Jambudweep lie 6 other continents & 7 oceans: salt, sugarcane, wine, ghee, curd, milk, & freshwater.
Each represents different stages of consciousness.
6️⃣
🗺️ Why it matters today
Jambudweep teaches us that:
🪔 The Earth is sacred
🌿 Borders are temporary
🧘 Dharma is universal
🌏 Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — The whole world is one family.
7️⃣
🔱 Sanatan Dharma saw a United Humanity
When our ancestors looked at the world, they saw not division - but one divine island of life.
No racism, no borders - only Dharma.

🧵 Thread: “Nalanda was just the tip of the iceberg…”
Ancient BHARAT was the education capital of the world.
Before Oxford. Before Harvard. Before Cambridge.
Let’s explore the forgotten University Empire of Bharatvarsha 👇
1. Takshashila (15th BCE – 5th CE)
The world's first known university.
• 10,000+ students
• 60+ subjects
• Alumni: Chanakya, Charaka, Panini
Students came from Greece, China, Babylon - for ज्ञान.
2. Nalanda (5th BCE – 12th CE)
9 million manuscripts.
10,000 students. 2,000 teachers.
A 3-storey library called “Dharmaganja” - unmatched in the world.
Burned by Bakhtiyar Khilji - it smouldered for months.

Our Puranas & Itihasas don’t just tell stories.
They describe the entire geography of the world in a cosmic way.
At the center of it all: Jambudvīpa, the landmass surrounded by ocean, divided into 9 Varshas (regions). Let’s explore 👇
2️⃣
🔹 What is Jambudvīpa?
According to Sanatan Dharma, Earth is divided into 7 continents (Dvipas).
The most important? → Jambudvīpa, the central land of humans, devas & great civilizations.
Yes - our “world map” was drawn thousands of years ago!
👩🦱 Whether she wears a saree, jeans, hijab, or nothing more than tradition allowed centuries ago…
A woman’s character is NOT defined by her clothes.
🧵 A thread on perception, patriarchy, and respect:
1.From ancient temples where women were carved in divine forms…
…to modern times where women cover themselves in fear or choice,
One truth remains:
Character is not in clothing.
2. Clothing is cultural.
In ancient temples, women were sculpted with minimal clothing — celebrated as divine embodiments of beauty, fertility, and power.
Nobody questioned their dignity.
