Do you know how Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj killed Afzal Khan despite appearing unarmed?
This two-minute thread will give you goosebumps! Spare just two minutes and read till the end.
Afzal Khan was sent by Bijapur against Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with an army of 10,000. He swore, “I will capture Shivaji while sitting on my horse and bring him back.”
A correspondence took place between Shivaji Maharaj and Afzal Khan, under which both agreed to a compromise.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ordered two large armies, led by Peshwa and General Netaji Palkar, to hide in the forests of Pratapgarh. Krishnaji Bhaskar informed Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in advance about Afzal Khan’s plan.
As Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj approached Afzal Khan’s camp, he sent a message requesting the removal of Syed Banda from the meeting place. His request was granted.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj then entered the meeting area, where both sides were represented by four individuals each the leader himself, two bodyguards, and a Brahmin messenger.
When they met, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj appeared unarmed, whereas Afzal Khan had a sword hanging from his waist.
Afzal Khan was seated on a platform in the center of the tent. As Shivaji Maharaj stepped onto the platform, his height reached only up to Afzal Khan’s shoulder.
As they moved in for an embrace, Afzal Khan suddenly grabbed Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s throat tightly with his left hand. With his right hand, he drew a dagger and struck at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s left armpit.
However, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was already wearing a hidden protective shield, rendering Afzal Khan’s attack ineffective.
In response, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj used his Baghnakha (tiger claws) to tear into Afzal Khan’s abdomen. With his other hand, he drew a dagger and stabbed Afzal Khan in the armpit.
Writhing in pain, Afzal Khan groaned and cried out, “You have killed me! You have killed me! You have deceived and killed me!”
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj jumped from the stage and ran towards his men. Then Syed Banda attacked and broke Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's turban into two pieces.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was already wearing an iron cap inside his turban, so he did not get injured in the head. Meanwhile, Jeev Mahala cut off one of Syed Banda's hands and in the next attack Syed Banda was killed.
Afzal Khan's men put the injured Afzal Khan in a palanquin and started carrying him away, but Shambhuji Kavji struck the followers' feet and made the palanquin fall and beheaded Afzal Khan and appeared before Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj went to Pratapgarh fort and fired a cannon to signal his soldiers, due to which Moro Trimbak and Netaji Palkar surrounded the Bijapur army with thousands of soldiers.
Many camels, elephants and 3000 soldiers of the Bijapuri army were killed. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's army snatched 65 elephants, 4000 horses, many camels, 2000 bundles of clothes, 10 lakh rupees worth of money and jewellery.
Afzal Khan's two sons, two helpful Maratha landlords and a high ranking commander were captured.
Afzal Khan's wives and his elder son Fazal Khan managed to escape.
This was Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's biggest victory till date and this victory spread Shivaji Maharaj's fame all over India. He gave money, rewards etc. to the winners and the families of those who died.

Shahaji Raje Bhosale, The Man Who Laid the Foundation of Swarajya
🧵 A Thread 🚩
Every great empire is built on a foundation. For Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Swarajya, that foundation was his father Shahaji Raje Bhosale (1594–1664).
Not all heroes wear crowns. Some lay the foundation stones.
At a time when the Deccan was dominated by Mughals, Adilshahis & Nizamshahis, Shahaji ensured the Marathas weren’t swallowed by bigger powers.
He carved space for his people, a base for Shivaji to rise later.
Shahaji Raje was a master of cavalry & diplomacy.
He served multiple sultanates, not out of weakness but out of strategy, keeping Maratha forces strong, respected, and battle-tested.
An incident that will give you goosebumps , i was surprised why we don’t know about this

It was 7th March 1679, Thakur Sujan Singh was taking his wedding procession. 22 year old Sujan Singh looked like a god, it seemed as if a god was taking his wedding procession.
He had not even seen the face of his bride, it was evening so he camped in “Chapoli” for night rest.
In a few moments he started hearing the sound of bells on the cows, the sound was not clear, still he was trying to listen, as if those voices were saying something to him.
Sujan Singh told his people, maybe this is the voice of the shepherds, listen to what they want to say.
The spies informed that the prince, these people are saying that some army has come to “Devde”. He was shocked. What kind of army, whose army, which temple has it come to?

Thousands of years ago, Maharshi Charak had told the right method of eating, yet 99% people break the rule first.
There is no need to tell how important food is for the body. Therefore, food can also cause the greatest diseases and food also protects us from them.
Maharishi Charak had told about this in his Ayurvedic diet rules thousands of years ago.
The first rule of eating is Unam, which means warm. Whatever food you are eating, it should be eaten fresh and hot. But most people have forgotten this rule and most have started consuming frozen or processed food. In a hurry, food is cooked and kept in the fridge and heated at night, causing more diseases in people.

Mughal soldiers asked young Maharaja Chhatrasal, Where is the Vidhvashini temple?
Young Maharaja Chhatrasal smiled, You are lucky to visit the temple today. But their reply was venom, We are here to destroy it.
In that moment, Chhatrasal’s smile vanished, his sword did the talking and he saved the temple. 🚩
Young Chhatrasal grew up in a land drowning under Mughal cruelty.
At just 12, he saw temples being razed and his people enslaved.
