The Department of Defense is now officially the Department of War.
Which, among other things, is a lot more honest.
And the Left is already losing its mind. 🧵
2/ Trump: “Defense. What are we, defense? Why are we defense? It used to be called the Department of War, and it had a stronger sound. We won WWI, WWII, everything. Now we’re just defenders? I don’t know.”
🔥 He's not wrong. We've lost all but one war since the change.
3/ From 1789–1947, the Army was under the Department of War. The Navy was separate. The Marines were/are part of it. The Air Force was part of the Army.
Then Truman merged them all into a new Department of Defense. "Efficiency."
But Washington forgot our military’s purpose.
4/ Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth:
“Ultimately the military’s job is to conduct war. We either win or lose wars. We have warriors, not defenders.”
This is about restoring the warrior ethos in our Armed Forces. We should NEVER ask ANYONE to fight a war we don't mean to win. 🇺🇸
5/ Congress is moving too:
Rep. Greg Steube & Sen. Mike Lee just introduced the Department of War Restoration Act of 2025.
Lee: “It should always be clear: Americans don’t just play defense.”
6/ For nearly eight decades, Democrats have fought endless “forever wars” with no victory.
Bureaucrats want to use the military for climate change, DEI, & social experiments.
Trump wants it focused on one thing:
👉 Lethality. Winning. Peace through strength.
7/ From 1789 to WWII, America’s greatest victories were fought under the Department of War.
The Marines at Iwo Jima.
The GIs at Normandy.
The boys who stormed Vicksburg and Belleau Wood.
They weren’t “defenders.” They were warriors. And they won.
8/ Trump’s rebrand is more than symbolism.
It’s a warning to enemies like China, Russia, Iran:
🇺🇸 America isn’t playing defense anymore.
🇺🇸 We’re back to projecting strength.
🇺🇸 We don't want to fight, but if we do, we will win.
Welcome back to the Department of War. 🇺🇸🦅

The “experts” told Reagan the Soviet Union was forever.
The “experts” told Trump peace in the Middle East was impossible without solving the Palestinian question.
Both men proved the experts dead wrong. 🧵
2/ In the late 1970s, America’s foreign policy was built on détente — appeasing Communism, ignoring human rights, and hoping to “manage” the Soviet Union forever.
Jimmy Carter even kissed Brezhnev at the signing of SALT II.
That was the Uniparty establishment’s vision.
3/ Then came Reagan.
He didn’t whisper about “managing decline.” He called the Soviet Union what it was: an Evil Empire.
He predicted Marxism-Leninism, not freedom, would be "thrown on the ash-heap of history."
The global elite called him reckless. A warmonger. A fool.
